I've been here for over 30 years.  I've minded my own business and lived a quiet life under the radar.  Since this election for more government, I've been blasted by people who, I believe, have not played anywhere in the realm of truth.

As I've said all along.  Once this election is over, I'll move on.  I've had threats from many from the pro-village people just because I have spoken my mind and given my opinion and shared facts regarding this issue.  Needless to say, I have anonymous slams from people who just operate this way. Yes, I've had threats as well.  It's too bad that this would go on in Campton Hills.

This is my blog and all are welcome.  The only people that I've deleted are those whose comments have been anonymous.  That's hardly a rejection of free speech.

As I've said the entire time, fight with passion, but when it's over, it's over.  Time to move on.  I'll resurface when there's something passionate to fight about.  But I've fought with my keyboard.  Angry people within Campton have fought back with lies, slams and total anonymity.

I'm done with this issue.  Biblically, it says to pray for those who govern.  I fought to rid this place of the 4th layer of government.  1)  Federal, 2) State, 3)  County and now 4)  New Campton Hills layer of rulers.  I lost.  In the Old Testament David lost his son.  When the son was dying he fasted and prayed.  Once his son died he picked up an moved on.  When asked why, David said that he fasted to accomplish something, but once his son died there was nothing more that he could do.  Therefore it was time to move on. I'm moving on as well.  I'll actually pray that those who have sought to govern actually learn to serve others and not themselves.  Everyone in Campton should pray for the same.

There are sore losers and sore winners.  I'm neither.  I came.  I typed and we lost.  I don't believe that the other side acted appropriately and if more people knew the truth, weren't intimidated or lied to, we would have won.  There I said it.

But like David, it's time to move on.  Our economy stinks nationally an it's bad within Campton.  I'm there to move forward and help the people who need that help.  Congrats pro people on your victory.  As always, your comments are always welcome, but not anonymously.  That's not a slam, nor is it a prevention of free speech as some would like to claim.  All with real names have commented and been allowed to whether they were pro-dissolve or pro big government.  I honor those who have the maturity to participate appropriately the ability to do so.

Campton has devalued an entire community.  Today our people were hurt.  Tomorrow the healing begins.

Larry, as a veteran and true believer in our democratic process I applaud your efforts.  Yesterday we saw history being made on a local, regional and national level.  We truly live in an amazing country where all are welcome to express their opinions and work to change those things that need to be changed.

I find it disappointing that there are people from both sides of either position who resort to misrepresentations or even worse when they feel threatened.  I do agree that now the healing process begins at all levels.  Larry, keep the faith.

Good for you Larry, speaking your voice and getting it out is important.  Being victim to many anonymous emails on slamming me, I believe if you have a comment on someone, at least have the guts to come out from behind your computer.  I am all for fair fighting, but I kick and bite a little too.

Larry,

Many thanks for your voice and for participating in an enormous battle with CH!  I am sorry that you were treated poorly, I must be extremely naive as I still believe in "do unto others".   Throughtout all of this we have made new friends and found out that there are a few truly exceptional neighbors around us.

Lets pray that the VCH realizes we are a village divided and takes steps to repair the damage.

Larry,

Your posted comments regarding the VCH issue are very gracious.  I agree, it is time to move on.  For me, this is the third time that I've voted pro-village, so I'm just as sick of this as those of you who kept trying to disolve it.  Let's get together now and make this the best village in Kane County to live in, shall we?

Regarding President-Elect Barack Obama, I also was very disappointed with his election.  However, I agree that it is the Lord who ordains these events, and I too am praying for his safety and success.  Maybe God will move his heart to recognize that respect for life is the begining and end of all government, and if we don't get that right, our society will not have His blessing.  Furthermore, I have a dentist who was applying to join the Navy Reserve.   He called this morning to say he would  NEVER serve under a President Obama, reasoning that with a successful dental practice and earning over $250,000 per year, he is "in the Obama sights" for punitive tax increases.  I guess I can't blame him, but I am disappointed.  It is pretty hard to recruit professional doctors and dentists in this war-time environment.  But, again, I too trust that everything happens according to God's plan.

In any event, you gave quite a testimony with your gracious acceptance of the election results, and my impression of your character has been raised significantly.  I commend you sir.

Larry,,thanks for stopping by.  I will never understand why so many people voted for the pro government position.  I've never met you, but have heard nice things about you.  The comments are (I'm paraphrasing): "he's a great guy, dedicated to our country and very level headed guy in Fox Mill, but we can't understand who's in his head about the Pro-Village stuff."  Or at least some other variation of this.  As to Barack or "Barry" as he was know for the 25 years of his life, $300,000 is not a lot of income for people with larger families.  To get taxed additionally on the money that's hard earned is stupid.  People making over $5,000,000 can get taxed a little higher, but come on...these are the people who are bringing in the money and the jobs.  You're de-incentivizing people who are motivated and who have the ability to bring a lot of people up with them.  I just don't get it.  I have a best friend who's worked in the Pentagon for 20+ years.  I'll tell you that with Barack as a limp fish, he can't wait to get out.  I keep telling him why?  The government will pay you and if your dreams come true in the private sector, Barack will take it all back.  I'm being sarcastic in my conversation of course, but I know that no leader is allowed without God's allowing it.

On one final note, thanks for your kind words.  If this ever comes up again, I'll pull out my keyboard and type frantically to dissolve or to pull out or whatever.  But since God has allowed this to be the case, it truly is time for me to move on.  Thanks for being one of the pro-village people who have corresponded nicely and not anonymously with me.

On a personal note, my wife and I will pray for your protection as you serve our country.  I want to thank you personally for your sacrifice and servce. May God bless you for your choice of career service.
