Living in the wild & how to survive

I'm not a cat person. Never have, never will. However, I do love my cats! No, I did not buy them or were giving them to me. Mine are all ferral. Three different litters, all born in my carport by ferral moms. Abandonded.

Long story short, my neighbor was the "cat lady", feeding all the strays. Then she sold her house and guess what, my DOG had to fight for her food because they were all starving.

That reminds me about real estate. Right now, many of us are starving. We are in a slump but there ARE buyers out there. How do you find them? INTERNET!!! The wave of the future. According to research, 84% start looking online.

Since I got my website in December 2007, I have made almost $20,000 off of it. Amazing. Yes, I'm a small fry but if you keep at it, they will find you.

Radar button. Referring back again to my kitties, they teach me a lot. I keep a window open for them to be able to go in and out and they LOVE it. They all have their own dfferent personalities (just like your buyers and sellers) and you have to figure out how to handle each.

My kitties comes back in with their tails standing straight up. Still, they are happy. Bear, cayote, hyena, owls (yes, I personally saw an owl taking one and there was nothing that I could do), there are so many animals out there.

Bottom line, what I am trying to say is this, stay on your toes, go for it and please do not forget to follow the radar! BTW, closed a deal today that is the result of my website (which I update weekly) and this was the SECOND deal from the same buyer! A third is in the making. Happy hunting!

EVA, I started my website back in 2000 and it has made it possible for me to go off on my own starting my own brokerage.  It is a constand source of leads for me.

Eva- I'm glad that you've found a way to get your voice out there... and that people have found you. Isn't it great to be able to use this resource? It sure beats the old methods.

I think the 84% number is misleading, though. Many people get a thought in their mind and jump on the Internet. 18 months later, they finally decide to buy and get asked in a survey, "When and where did you first start looking for a house," their response is "the Internet."

Heck, I'm always looking at homes on the Internet, but when it comes time to buy or sell, I'll be asking friends and business associates for recommendations. Then I'll go to the Internet and see what kind of supporting documentation those Realtors have. Good web site plus good recommendations equals possibility.

There are many, many ways to create a very nice niche market, and there are many sellers selling and buyers buying. Determine which way you like to do things, and then do it persistently and consistently. That persistence and consistency is what will pay off for long-term viability.
