What's with all of these copy and paste listings in the Active Rain blogs? While I understand the thought process behind working towards a higher ranking on Google and all that good stuff, this practice seems to clog up the actual live writings that are so unique. I love to hear the various tips, experiences and even (actually--especially) the rantings of my fellow real estate professionals. Lately though, I have had to scroll down a couple of miles of new and "unique" listings, and "right to reprint" corporate articles that are provided by any franchise real estate company.
Now I don't begrudge an agent for attempting to make his/her presence shine through this AR vehicle, but it seems to me that a separate area should be provided for this bulk material. It is akin to certain magazines and television shows--too many ads, too frequently will interrupt the attention span and eventually erodes the overall quality of the media. I'm not saying that we have arrived at that point, but we're getting there.
I hope, that with enough feedback from concerned bloggers and morning grouches like me, Active Rain will take steps to maximize the purity that has made it so successful and unique. Any thoughts?
