110 Comments on It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...and I'm NOT ready!
Richard - I, too, am not ready at all, but I am in the mood for the holidays this year for some reason. Perhaps because I see it as an oasis after the desert of negativity that we've all crawled through this year.
Mel...
Oh no, now what?
Way too early for me. So far I've heard 3 Christmas commercials on TV.

Rich...
Well, it looks like we're in full swing now!
RW - Congrats on the feature! Looks like some of my favorite people on the front page today! KM
Hi Richard, Wow...I remember back in the day when stores would wait until Thanksgiving to push Christmas. This year I saw Christmas stuff before Halloween. On the flip side, I'm thinking of decorating early myself because if I go to all the hassle of hanging the garland, I might as well get more enjoyment out of it!! Cheers, Harley
Susan ~ (Sorry so late in responding to you... it'll probably get lost in the sea of comments)
Step 1 - have a new baby (have I lost you yet??)
Step 2 - enjoy seeing everything through the eyes of a new baby...
Step 3 - put up the decorations, cook and bake like there's no tomorrow...
Step 4 - have a lot of parties, spend time with the ones you love
Step 5 - imbibe! (perhaps that is one of the most important steps!!)
The end! ~A:)
Christmas always creeps up on me too. I can't believe that Christmas music is playing in all of the stores already.
It seems early for all this but I'm really looking forward to our kids coming home for Christmas for the first time in three or so years.
Alisha, I am 49 years old. If I have a new baby, I will be delivering it at Ripley's Believe it or not hotel of crazy people. I do remember those days those, my babies are 12 and 19. Life was so nice when you had a bunch of little tyke toys under the tree. Thanks for the memories!
It does seem crazy for there to be Christmas stuff already, we still have to get through Thanksgiving
Hello All....
Thanks for joining in! I'm working on some new stuff right now!
You are right - it is getting to be an awful lot like Christmas -- went into a store to buy groceries this week and the Christmas music was playing.
Yikes! Not Christmas decorations yet... Can't we get through Thanksgiving first?
I WISH OUR BUYERS WOULD MOVE THAT QUICKLY! :)
hristmas is going to be here before we know it.. I'm not ready either. We are still having warm weather too
Cruised thru Walmart tonight after work heading to RedBox to rent a video and I was amazed at all the Christmas Decorations. Please not yet!!I panicked and went looking for place-mats since Thanksgiving will be at our house this year with daughters new in-laws. Found the Thanksgiving decorations on sale with all the Halloween stuff. Works to my advantage but it is a little sad we are just bypassing the celebration of Thanksgiving. Guess it's not the money makers for the stores that Christmas is.
I am ready....it is my favorite time of year, once I come to terms with it...I never want summer to end, the pool to close, so I can't give it up , and loose a lot of fall "hanging on" to summer...then before I know it, it is halloween, t=giving, the the big one!
Greg ~ Hmmmm... Sleigh Bells Ringing, huh... gee thanks... totally stuck in my head now!! ~A:)
Richard, I always enjoy Christmas and typically put up at least two trees (actually right now I have four I could put up--long story). Yesterday afternoon though I ran into a lady that is even more into Christmas than me. She puts up five trees and starts decorating at the end of September. By the first week of November she has already started having parties and she said she started doing this after her husband died. She likes to celebrate for at least four months. I thought to myself "what a joyous way to celebrate".
