I think ActiveRain is a great website - informative, fun and addictive!  However, it seems odd that the spellcheck feature on ActiveRain, as of today, does not recognize the name of our President-Elect. If you type a blog or make a comment with the name Barack Obama - the spellcheck recognizes it as being a mistake.

AR Obama spellcheck

So, come on AR - update your spellchecker!

Best regards,
Jay

Jay, as much as Sarah Palin was in the news, I was surprised how many times her name was mispelled, too.  Maybe it's just people rushing?  Was McSame a typo? : )

Spellcheck also thinks he is a mistake.  Man this is going to be a long four years.

Good one Brian ~ I could not have said it any better...

Brian, read my blogs - I'm very selective with my words and I also like to get as many comments as possible. I'm a bit of a smart ass too - so, your joke was obvious to me as I wrote this blog. Congratulations for being the first to make the joke on this post's comments!

Jay ~ You are a good sport. Bad when it comes to character and judgment, but a good sport nonetheless.

In terms of wittiest comments, Nicholas, you're now giving Brian a run for his money.

When AR fixes...or fixs...of ficksez Barack Obama, maybe the could tinker with blog, blogger and blogging. It seems that  a blog site would have blog worked out in the smell check.

Spell-check has no problem with "The Messiah" though - hope that's not a hint it'll be a really long, tough four years!

Jeff, based on Brian's logic - "The Messiah" would not be a mistake.

Jay - That's what has a lot of us worried. Like I said, let's hope it's not a really long, tough four years!

1It is a mistake and the American People are paying the price!  Just goes to show that you dont need to have any experience all you need is an obnoxious amount of campaign money and buy your way to the Presidency.

Not only do we need spell check, we need foreign policy check, domestic policy check, economic policy check, military policy - you get the idea.

Jay - all I can say that isn't this a bit trivial, how many last names does any spell checker get correct? But, if that is your biggest worry......

Jeff, so it's been a walk in the park with the Bush administration?

Kathy, what in the hell is the point of the "HOME BOY" picture?

Charlie, I agree, that's why I voted for Obama.

Mike, it's an observation, not a worry.

Kevin, it's good to hear from you.

Jay - So, come on AR - update your spellchecker!  takes it well beyond the status of an observation!

Mike, you're reading far too much into this... had it been a big deal to me, I would have utilized bold or italicized words in the original post. Most of my other posts utilized this basic technique for emphasis.

Jay - it's not just AR - Microsoft Word can't spell Obama either. It's suggested spelling is "Osama" - I'm not joking!! I always knew that Bill Gates was a far right racist nutjob clinging to his god and his guns! *lol*

Spellcheck is out of date in many ways. In addition the more common spelling for Barack is Barak; add to that the other forms, Baruch, Baracka, the list goes on........ hmmm..
