Getting ready and the duty for the future

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

Walking around the Lake in Oconomowoc one notices that owners of the homes are getting out the cones that cover the rose bushes, and the ever present burlap that will cover plants to keep them strong during winter. I saw people tiring aluminum foil, or cheese cloth as well around the base of the tree. This is done so deers dont pull at the bark and eat it. Smart deer; the bark of certain trees such as Willow trees and others trees and bushes benefit from acedicylic acid, otherwise known as asilyn. In short, this is aspirin. The deer may be smarter with natural medicines supplied by mother nature than we may be.

Further walking people are covering up their bark and mulch patches down by the water with large tarps. I would imagine this protects the water from taking the bark away from heavy sea action, and also they are heavy enough to keep the mice out.

The docks were pulled out and out on shore. The other docks were lifted and stacked until next year, Plastic is stretched around large lake rooms with big windows. Everywhere you look people have their ladders out and are washing windows. Raking around the houses, and dragging the leaves down to the street so the city can pick them up. The last minute preparations are being done so everyone can be ready for when the snow flies. There is never a dull moment walking, driveing, or just viaiting Ocomomowoc. They super restaurants had many a soup and sandwich special. My son will tell you everything is good, but to maintain space for dessert. It's that time of year, and the coats are out.

See, and when you live in Sacramento, you get ready for winter by putting away your sandals. Yup, that's about all I do.

Hey, did you call yesterday? If my phone doesn't ring, it's a cell tower problem.

Tom - it sure is time to button things down for the season.  We hit 27 degrees today.  A week ago it was 75.
