The rugged coastline of California - by Robert Swetz

These photographs were taken at Trinidad Beach in California July of 2008. As you can see by all the large rocks, it is very rugged and beautiful with flowers and green plants every where.

In the photo below, I became very worried because my wife took off ahead of me and when I got down to the beach, I could not find her. If you look real close you can see her sitting up on a rock dressed in black about in the middle of the page.

And the last photograph shows you how big these rocks really are by the man that is walking along the beach and the other people in the picture.

Trinidad Beach is a very beautiful part of the California Coastline and I really like the rock structures more than just plain sand. To me plain sandy beaches are a little boring because I have seen so many beaches and coastlines around the world.

Deborah - What about the Oregon Coast line? When I lived in Portland in the mid 70s I use to travel up and down the Oregon and California coast. Please don't tell anyone that I'm that old, OK? Thanks for the comment!

Deborah - I knew that if you liked Northern California and Washington, you would also like Oregon. Have you ever been to Brookings Oregon, about 90 miles from the California border?

Deborah - Brookings is on the Oregon Coast about 90 miles north of the California border. It is breath-taking with huge rock structures all over the beach. Take a look at a map, you might have been there.
