I just wanted to post an exciting story! Have you ever heard of the group "Inspired By Song"? This is one of my favorite groups because people post songs that truly inspire them and also,  my favorite are the contests that Adam and Jason hold each month. It really stimulates my creativity and I also enjoy reading everyone's posts.

A few months back, we had a contest that pushed us to write about our first concert ever. I remembered it like it was yesterday, it was the New Kids On The Block. Now, if you are around my age you will have no trouble remembering that but if you are a little bit older the name might be nothing to you. Let's just say my favorite band of all time reunited...it was really like the Beatles getting back together for me and thousands of other women.

After writing my contest entry, someone found me and my entry. It was the Baton Rouge 225 magazine. Now, if you're not from here that probably doesn't ring a bell. If you are from here, then you know that 225 is one of the most popular magazines IN Baton Rouge. 225 called and wanted to do an interview with little ole me. I was so excited. I'M GOING TO BE FAMOUS, WELL ALMOST!

We met at Starbucks to do the interview. Of course, I had no trouble going on and on about my favorite band. I was so excited that I was going to be going to their concert months later. *Note- The concert was one of the best concerts I had been to in my entire life, granted I've only been to a few* Weeks later the photographer came over to take pictures for the magazine. They took pictures of me and another friend that were going to the concert, we said cheese and took loads of pictures.

After the magazine came out, I had several people call me and tell me that they saw me. I felt somewhat famous. The one question every one wanted to know was, "How in the world did they find you?", "How in the world did you get to do that?". I wanted to just say, "Well, you know, I KNOW PEOPLE", but I really had to tell them that it was Activerain! So you see, you never know who is reading, who is surfing...you never know when you might be ALMOST FAMOUS!

Now that is super cool girl.  I remember my first concert was Menudo and Bobby Brown opened up for them (guess how old I am)! I was 14 & loved every minute of it.  It was just like nothing I had been to before.

That is too funny Lindsay. I never saw New Kids on the Block, but I remember a lot of my friends went. That is really cool that you got a little local notoriety. Hopefully it pays of in some business, or at least some new friends.

Lindsay,

Always good to see a colleague flashing, "The Right Stuff"!  A funny story... In college while attending the Univ of South Florida, my fraternity brothers and I did a synchronized swimming skit at Greek Week to "Hanging Tough"... A classic!

Lindsey- Know New Kids on the Block? My daughter was in 5th grade when they were hot, so I have all the songs memorized from her singing &  playing them over and over. She even had the hat and her friends and her lip synced to one of their songs for the schools talent competition ( they didn't win- no real talent there!). Of course now she adamantly denys this, as she's way too cool to have liked them. I'm glad that you still admit it!

Congratulations on being famous!

Thanks for bringing up NKOTB. Now I've got "The Right Stuff" in my head. You know you are big when Weird Al makes a parody of your song.

Active Rain has made me famous. Not publicly, but with the people who count: future clients.

Thanks AR!
