Angel Trumpet One of the most beautiful and intriguing flowers IMO is the Angel's Trumpet.
I took these photos at a botanical garden we visited while in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
These flowers were huge and I couldn't resist  getting these shots.

The following shot I had to take several shots to get a fairly clear shot from beneath.

Robert - Yes they are beautiful, but you have to catch them at the right time.  Thanks for commenting.

William - They require a moist climate with warm days and cool nights.  Very fragrant.

Valerie - Yes they are a large flower (up to 20 inches long) and very frangrant. A sweet odor to them.  A word of caution, they are also very toxic.

Hi Bob thanks for the comment on my covered bridge photo in Penn State.  This photo is amazing.  You must have a great camera the detail is super.  I wonder how long this flower stays in bloom.  It looks so fragil and it does look like an angel

April, Thank you so much for your kind words.  Believe me, there are no thanks necessary.  I love this country and would do another 20 if they'd let me.

Bob, you are fortunate to live in a place that supports such lush growth. Even if our climatewas similar...the deer in my valley would gobble up any flowers that were not behind bard wire! BTW, I meant to say thanks on Veterans Day so Thanks again!

Russell, I know what you mean.  I went up north one year and the dear had eaten my Rose of Sharon bush down to the stub.  Thanks for your comments.

Hey, Bob.

The angels trumpet actually doesn't require a moist climate with warm days and cool nights. They will look their best when watered, though, and they respond very well to bloom-growth fertilizer and pruning (the flowers only appear on new growth).

The flowers are most fragrant at night. In fact, a good sized specimen with a few hundred flowers can provide fragrance for a city block.

The sap is not only toxic, but it is a potent skin irritant. Since the branches are brittle and easily broken, anyone working around it should wear protective clothing.
