I couldn't believe my eyes this morning. It had been raining most of the evening and well into the morning. I stepped outside to get into my car to come to work and noticed that my front lawn was under about 4 inches of water. This was very unusuall as it has been my experience that this part of the yard drained really well.
Upon further investigation, I noticed that the storm drain just next door was plugged solid with leaves and a little other debris.
So this is a short reminder to all of us. Let's help out our municipal workers and if we notice that the storm drains are plugged with fallen leaves and such, help the neighbors and yourself out by unplugging the storm drain. Preventive maintenance can and usually does go a long way.
