WEICHERT WINS TWO NATIONAL AWARDS FOR ITS ONLINE REAL ESTATE TRAINING
(Excerpted from a recent Weichert press release)
Weichert, Realtors® announced that it was the recipient of two national awards for excellence in its online real estate training courses. This marks the second year in a row that Weichert, Realtors was recognized by Learn.com® during its Empowerment Awards Gala at its annual Users Conference. Weichert was honored in two key categories:
"Best Course Design Using CourseMaker® Studio," Weichert took first place based upon the overall quality of its custom online courses.
"Highest Course Completion Rates," the company won second-place honors based on the nearly 46,000 online courses completed by Weichert sales associates and employees in 2006 to improve their skills and performance. Weichert sales associates typically complete multiple courses.
Mary Banen, vice president of training and development at Weichert, Realtors®, said, "With its on-demand accessibility, eLearning enables busy sales associates to continually upgrade their skills and stay atop the complexities of the real estate transaction."
Weichert's eLearning opportunities include 37 real-estate specific courses, as well as more than 160 technology courses, including "Conducting An Effective Open House," "Working with the Internet Customer," and "The Art of Negotiation."

Personal Commentary: I have taken quite a few of the online course offerings, and I must say that some are better designed than others. But even the ones that are "less than stellar" have something to offer. There is a wealth of resources available to all Weichert agents on the Weichert University site. If you are a rookie agent, the training is invaluable. If you are a seasoned pro, there is value in brushing up -- Sharpening the Saw, as it were -- and you might even hear a new tip or two.
For this market, the Buyer Consultation course is really quite valuable. Since I started using it, every buyer I have presented it to has signed an exclusive agency contract with me. I highly recommend using it -- it is a very powerful tool.
Rich,
Have you ever taken the on-line courses provided by Prudential and a requirement to pass in order to work with their transferees?
One course is about 300 pages and costs $75.00 to take.
Lucky :)
