Today's Paper, Gloom, Gloom, Gloom

I won't bore you with the editorial, I will however say that i'm sick of this negative media the housing market has.  Our Home section today has a huge article with a poor man standing amid hundreds of for sale signs.  Now we do have 14,000ish homes for sale which is down about 3,000 from the summer, but our MlS system has also expanded quite a bit recently.  We are still selling alot of homes and mortgages are still available.  We need to band together and put a positive spin on all of this.

I have not spoken with one person over the last 4 weeks that doesn't think it's impossible to get a loan now, I follow the news like a hound and I don't think this, where do the buyers and sellers get this missinformation?  Well I'm off to educate the public one door at a time.

Best Wishes, Brady

I ignore the doom and gloom. It's just not realistic and doesn't apply to everyone. I have a Buyer under contract this week and 2 more coming, that I'm sure of.  Another agent told me she was bringing her buyer back to my listing for a 3rd time today and will be submitting an offer, so make that #4. There isn't doom and gloom in my world.  The market is stronger than people think and stronger than the media likes to report.

Thanks Laura, I agree with you but there is no reason not to kill it, we still have people here doing 10 deals a month, I believe we all could do that, its just a matter of getting out there and talking to the people.  Brady

Brady,

You answered your own question. Millions of people in this country believe what their local paper or national network news tells them. :)
