Yesterday was a good day. Good days are rare nowadays with the economy gone bad, high unemployment rates, home sales and home prices decreasing by the day, and anything else you can think of that affects your pocket books. One thing to keep in mind out of all that is happening around you is to remember to keep your health in good shape and your family happy. Yesterday was my brother's birthday and I took time off from work to call him and wish him a happy birthday and that we will be coming up to visit him on Thanksgiving. He had moved to Portland a few months ago and I am proud that he has made up his mind about what he wants to do in life and where he wants to live, being the older brother, I always worry about him.
With that said, I also opened escrow on one of my listings that fell out of escrow a couple weeks ago and I attributed this to mine and my sellers optimistic attitude in these tough times and the promise to my sellers that I will continue to provide them with excellent service. My sellers could not believe me when I called the day before about our new offer, and it felt great to call them and tell them that we are in escrow again. These good days and happy moments are worth recognizing and celebrating because it is a tough market out there.
So I did call my brother back later yesterday evening and told him that I had opened escrow and that it must have been because it was his birthday..he got a good laugh out of that.
