I'm now reading Search Engine Optimization for Dummies and what a great book for realtors with websites.  I learned the value of directories.

For one, I learned how to find out if your site is recognized by the major search engine.  All you have to do is go the search window for the site.  For example my website is www.jasonhector.com.  I go to www.google.com and in the search box type the following:  site:jasonhector.com.  This will tell you how many pages Google has their directory.

Try the other major websites too.

1.  www.yahoo.com

2.  www.msn.com

3.  www.ask.com

4.  www.dmoz.org

If you are not recognized by these search engines, submit your site so that people can find you on the internet.  Good luck and happy blogging.
