I know many members here at AR are from the region of Va. where this senseless horrific crime took place.  While I do not have children at this university, this tragedy could happen anywhere!  One cannot even imagine the pain and sorrow that these parents, students, faculty and residents must be going thru.

This crime leaves us speechless, searching for answers.  May these people heal in time.

As an additional note to this....while glued to the television I have come to appreciate this coverage.  It is very sad, yet seeing these young people that have lost loved ones come forth and tell their stories just makes your heart go out to them.  May they continue to be strong.

It is tragic to see so many of our young people - the 'best and brightest' of the next generation stuck down in their prime. It hurts that it is so close to home and that the media, doing its job, is running the story 24/7. I have chosen not to watch so much now that we know all the basic facts.

On the other hand, let's not let these tragic deaths cheapen the thousands of other young people killed and wounded overseas in Iraq, without the press coverage or the community of support.

May God bless all their souls.

Thank you for your comments! It is true that as soldiers in a difficult war, they have sacrificed for our great United States of America.  We need to give continued thanks to those men and women each day!

We should do our best to protect the young, as they will be the future!

In Remembrance!
