My other blog is my main blog, where I post several times a week.  There I write about everything to do with Summit County real estate.   I live in the mountains of Colorado, surrounded by ski resorts in the winter and wildflowers in the summer.  Oh yeah, and a few tourists here and there.

My niche is vacation homes and the lifestyle that we enjoy in our mountains.  I look online almost every night for resources and links that I can draw on for my blog postings, but I am pretty much left with coming up with my own ideas.  There is precious little out there about vacation homes, how to manage them, rent them, and of course, buy and sell them.  If you are in a resort area, let's add each other to our blogrolls, swap some information, doing some linking and get some cross pollination going!  I see a lot of listings on resort area blogs, and a little bit about interest rates or taxes, but not a lot of actual information about second homes and all that goes along with them.

Oh my, how beautiful! I took my first trip to Colorado last spring -- Beaver Creek for a seminar. I could not believe how VAST the mountains were  up close! I have traveled through the Smokeys and thought I knew what mountains were!! Wow! was my breath taken!

The highlight of my trip (aside from the training!) was climbing to 16,500 elevation -- we started around 10,500!! How long it took us to rise and how quickly we came down! I have a map that shows our travel up the ski hills that I use as a motivational tool!! It was funny...we met some people who were originally from Michigan and told them of our trek up the mountain. Their comment was, "you don't do that this time of year!" when I asked why, they said, "you just don't"!! Well, I'm hear to say, I did and it was wonderful and I will never forget it!

You are blessed Joanne, to be surrounded by such beautiful country! I can't wait to do it again!!!

I certainly am blessed!  Most mornings as I drive (5 minutes) to work, I think that I must be living in a postcard, because it always looks like one.  It doesn't matter if the sun is shining in our blue, blue Colorado sky or the snow squalls are hitting the peaks around me, it is always gorgeous!  When I talk about Colorado and our mountains I find it hard to be brief Mary!  Thanks to both Marys for your comments.  Joanne

Have you joined the "Colorful Colorado" group.  I think I am the only non-Coloradoan (is that right?) that is a member. I ski a few times a year.  Dena the Ecobroker is in charge of recruiting, since she let me stay I help from time to time.  Stop by and post to us.

I found the Colorful Colorado group last night and did join it.  I am thinking that I should start a Resort Brokers group.  There are lots of us out there, but maybe not many blog!
