Project Blogger Week One Wrap Up - Week Two REV UP!

Hi All,

Sunday marked the end of the first full week of Project Blogger's omnipresence in my life.  To say that things are different for me now would be the understatement of the century!  I have learned more in this one lone week about blogs, websites, the Internet and the people here on Active Rain than I could have ever discovered on my own.

With regard to blogs... My blog Route66Living.com is coming along quite nicely, thanks in no small part to that Wizard of the Web himself Drew Meyers!  I just finished roughly 3 hours of Im'ing, tweaking and adjusting with him on the site.  There is still lots to do, but I think that since the site is only a mere 11 days old, its doing pretty well.  Site traffic continues to increase and the comments from all of the visitors have been encouraging, friendly and very valuable.

I have been spending a lot of time working on the little, but very necessary, time consuming things like searching out and attaching links.  I also spent a few hours yesterday photographing my fair City of Claremont so that I/we would have plenty of visuals to choose from for the site.  It sure is a lot harder building the site from the ground up than I realized.  I know that I could have hired someone to design and do this part for me, but there is a great deal of satisfaction (not to mention invaluable learning) to be derived from doing it yourself.

I also appreciate very deeply everyone who has taken the time to give the brand new site a looksee and share their thoughts or suggestions with Drew and me.  I really do feel like this is a communal effort and that pleases me to no end.  It reminds me of when I was a little girl and I wanted a popsicle from the ice cream man.  My mom would say "Well, unless you have enough for everyone, its not fair to eat in front of others".  Thank you all for dining with me.  The fruit of knowledge really is sweeter when it is shared.

As for websites and the Internet in general... I also put some time into my static site www.HomesByTisza.com.  Not much mind you, but I did add an MLS search to the site.  I will replicate that on my blog soon.

And, finally, the people on Active Rain - Are truly wonderful!  Being welcomed into the fold only slightly over two weeks ago for the very first time and receiving such a supportive, warm and encouraging greeting, not to mention the veritable chance of a lifetime to participate in the very first Project Blogger contest has been much more than I could have ever dared ask for.  Thank you all whether I have met you yet or not, for giving me the opportunity to become a member of this truly amazing community.  I wholeheartedly agree with Ines and echo her sentiments exactly.

As the weeks progress, I eagerly look forward to seeing what everyone in and out of the contest achieves.

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!
