One of the Sources to check out is the Washington State Home Finance commission. http://www.wshfc.org/buyers/homechoice.htm. They have a number of programs including the House Key State Bond Program. Within this program are a number of sub programs including First Mortgage Programs, Down Payment Assistance Program, House Key Targeted Areas (Persons buying a home in a targeted area do not have to be first-time homebuyers). Targeted areas are census tracts in Washington state that meet federal guidelines as economically distressed and, therefore, given special consideration under the House Key State Bond Program
You must attend a free Home Buyers Education Program. (I have been trained to give the Real estate portion of this program). Then you contact commission trained loan officers to see what you are qualified for. Once you know how much you are qualified for it is time to look for a home.
