GAIL,I must say Craigslist is probably my favorite.  I think our son is going to buy a jet ski from someone on Craigslist here in the next day or two.  He is looking for the kind of jet ski that requires some skill.  He won't get to use it much since he heads back to Iraq on the 22nd but it will be something to look forward to when he gets back the middle of March. 

I don't often have open houses but when I do I have also used Craigslist to advertise them.

RICHARD, Thanks!  I have to be honest I made these lists to make it easy for me to use these sites as much as anything else.  I put them on my favorites but then I can't remember where I put them (lol).  This way it makes it easy for me to quickly go back to any of them.

JOHN,  I'm still going through the list so will be adding more as I get the time.  I just was so impressed with these websites that PC magazine suggessted.  I need to read those magazines instead of throwing them in the magazine bin to get lost in the dust.  I guess I need to take more plane trips so I have time to read.

CHRIS, I just signed up for the Freecycle yahoo site for my area.  I've been trying to de-clutter and this sounds like a great way to do it.  I just hope I don't see stuff that I need (lol).  I had never heard of the site before but I LOVE the concept.

PATRICIA,We actually bought our last car online.  It was a new car so my husband identified what he wanted then went shopping online.  We found the car at a particular dealer and when we went in we only dealt with their online guy.  We had already agreed to a price prior to going in so it was a hassle free operation.  I highly recommend it!!

CYNTHIA, I couldn't write a post about shopping sites without including Craigslist and ebay; well for that matter Amizon also.  I'm getting ready to go on to Amazon and do my daughter's Christmas shopping.  It doesn't get much better than that as I'm not a big shopper.  I love giving presents though so cash is out. Well usually out, our son is home for his 3 week leave from Iraq and since he won't be here Christmas I'm giving him cash this year but only for this year.  I don't want to get in the habit of doing that I think it takes all the fun out of birthdays and holidays.

AUDREY, I was not familiar with freecycle or Zolick but I am now.  I am especially excited about Freecycle.  I often have stuff that I just don't know what to do with.  It makes so much sense to get it to someone who can use it.

THESA, Thanks!  I actually also did this for my self. When I save these types of websites under my favorites I have trouble remembering what I saved them under. 

ELIZABETH, I'm glad you are finding the sites useful also.  I know that I have used several of them already.  I'm still plowing through all the sites in the article.  It takes some time to visit them all.

WILLIAM, I have Vista and for some reason that happens to me all the time.  I can't tell you how many times I have to re-write post or for that matter it happens all the time in Word also.  I try to remember to hit save but it is so easy to forget. 

I have not quite figured del.icio.us.com out but thanks for adding the post on. I will be adding more post but it takes time as I am visiting them all myself.  

By the way I just got back from visiting a friend in San Diego.  I LOVE SAN DIEGO!!

GAIL, I am thrilled to find out about recycle.  I have some stuff that I want to get rid of and it sounds like a great way.  I joined the yahoo group in my town and have the emals going in to a folder.  What a great concept!

JANE,  I'm glad you have made your car decision.  We don't have the civic hybrid but we love our civic coupe.  They have REALLY made the civic look classy in the last few years.  Typically we don't buy a new car but we did with the Civic because we liked the new design.

GARY WOLTAL, I'm finding all kinds of new sites in this article.  My next one will be on travel when I get the time to do it.  I have the rare occurrence of having both of my young adult children home this week so that's where my time has been spent.

SHIRLEY, so far we have only had good experiences off of Ebay.  I'm glad that your experience was only semi-bad; that makes me think you must have worked it out.  It sounds like some of those deals that go haywire but turn out okay in the end.

GENA, I have a lot more to check out when I get the time.  I have always liked PC magazine but this issue had a wealth of websites that I had not heard of.

GARY WOLTAL, YES both of my yound adult children have been home this week.  Our son is home for his 3 week R&R from Iraq.  Our daughter is a flight attendant who works for a charter company that moves our troops and she was able to get a week off at the same time.  She works odd hours but November is not a busy month for troop flights.  It has been wonderful having them both home.  We had an early Thanksgiving dinner today.

JENNIFER, I just bought a new Christmas tree and gave my old one away on freecycle.  I knew I was going to buy one and then when I saw the email asking for a tree it just seemed like perfect timing.  The couple we gave it to were so appreciative.  They moved here from Seattle and are still trying to sell their house back in Seattle but now find themselves upside down.  I'm glad the tree went to a good home.  They had left their tree behind in Seattle and they said my old tree was almost identical.
