I have some people ask me how I know about the Marine Corps birthday, and why? Well, it's not just because I have Marines in my family, but because I respect what they stand for. "Semper Fi" (short for Semper Fidelis) It's Latin for "Always Faithful". They have always been a symbol of honor and protection for me, and I get a little emotional when I think of all that have left their families, and some that have lost their lives, to protect ME... and YOU! I know there are other armed forces that have done the same, and I respect them to, but today... Happy Birthday Marines! AND Thank you!! I appreciate all you Jar Heads do! Oo Rah! And, you look great in those uniforms!  

Just in case you didn't know... During the American Revolution, many important political discussions took place in the inns and taverns of Philadelphia, including the founding of the Marine Corps. 
 
A committee of the Continental Congress met at Tun Tavern to draft a resolution calling for two battalions of Marines able to fight for independence at sea and on shore.  
 
The resolution was approved on November 10, 1775, officially forming the Continental Marines.

I finally found out what that mean't but didn't want to ask. I have two nephews and a brother in law who are marines. When they are around it's like who can do the most awesome thing. But I not only love them dearly they have me total respect two are in Iraq due home for Christmas and the other is in Romainia I believe, we never know where he is till he shows up.

I always remember when thinking of a Marine " all gave some and some gave all" God Bless.
