19 Comments on A Little Bit of Winter in Arizona....
IN Texas winter will hit around January.
Alright, I have heard of snow, but I don't see it very often. In fact, I can't remember the last time it snowed here.
Mel- Ours usually doesn't start until right before Christmas.....it's early! I hope that means a bad, no good....well lots of snow!
JL- That's what I love about it here.....it was in the 70's just the other day! Dont' like the weather...wait 5 minutes and it'll change!
We haven't gotten much snow yet and even though I am from Colorado, I prefer the summer months!
Our weather is similar in the way that it changes often. It may start off hot and humid, but wait a while, and it will be really hot and humid. Then we get about three months of a mild Winter.
SNOW?
WOW!
I've seen snow twice in my life. Okay, maybe like four times. 2 years ago we had some sleet that "stuck" It's soooo funny. Schools shut down, buses stopped their routes, the media was everywhere, free ways were shut down... can you telll we don't know how to deal with frozen anything in Houston unless it's a frozen margarita? ha ha.
Hi Mandi that is one thing I miss about Show Low is the winters. I am coming up there for Thanksgiving so hopefully the snow will be there when I get there.
A snow of that magnitude would have closed down my little patch of America for close to a week!
Sounds like fun with the family going sledding...we get one snow every 10 years! LOL
Patricia- We get less snow then you do and it winter doesn't last that long!
JL- I can't stand the heat anymore....it makes me sick. No really physically ill and I swell up so bad that I can't even wear my wedding rings. I love winter!
Greg- Well you can't beat knowing how to handle frozen margaritas! I grew up in Willcox (southern AZ) and it was the same thing there.....I think it snowed twice!
Skye- Yeah it's just too hot in Fountain Hills for me....but it sure is nice during the winter! I hope you have a good vacation here....I'll be in Tucson but Nan will be at the office and she would love to see you. You should stop by!
Craig- You'd probably be the crazy guy running around in snow boots! They'd probably put you on TV!
Trey- It is so much fun! (I think I have way more fun then the kids) I'm looking into a horse drawn sled ride this year too!
We've barely been down to freezing in Payson. The leaves are still pretty here. It has been really unusually warm this Fall.
You should totally not ever get into a sauna, you may explode.
Mandi, Thanks for the picture! My wife wife longs for snow... although, we don't see much of it down here in Tucson... Me personally, I love the warm weather in Arizona! There's always something to do outside!
Kurt- I love AZ for this very reason.....I can go visit warmer weather in just a few short hours when I get tired of the snow. You should bring her up here when the snow really falls....I'm sure she'd love it!
Mandi...
I thought that Jesse was the only one to have snow so far...in Fairbanks!
Beautiful! I can't believe you are getting snow already... I love the first snowfall of the season! ~A:)
Richard- I have heard that Alaska's climate is similar to ours in a few places......but I've never been there!
Alisha- It was more of a light dusting...as you can see from the picture. I'm hoping for a good snowfall this year!!
Mandi,
Thanks for the great picture. I'm in Gilbert, and we're counting the days until Sunrise opens! Boarding for the son, old fashioned skis for me!!
Thanks!
Bill- Wow someone who comes to Sunrise instead of going to Snowbowl. I've still never been skiing but I think this will be the year!
