Minnesota Home Stager now Staging CARS????

Home Stager with Minnesota Home Staging Network~ MN's Top Home Staging Firm

Ok - so Staging cars for sale isn't really in our list of staging services at Stylish Transformations (not at the moment anyway - HA!).

The funny thing is that as I was looking at vehicles recently, I was amazed to see that some sellers (even some very nice car dealers) hadn't STAGED their CARS!

Do they not realize that you must STAGE your car too? Gloveboxes, ashtray, consoles and the like need to be thoroughly cleaned out, windows spotless, carpets vaccumed, etc. It needs to be detailed from the top down, and inside out if you want to get top dollar for your vehicle - right?  The good thng is, there were very few cars that weren't staged for sale, but I can tell you that the dirty cars were not the ones I wanted to purchase.  Perhaps they were cars that were just traded in so they hadn't made it to the detail shop yet. That's what I'm hoping.

Anyway, the desciption many of us have used to our Home Staging clients that are getting their homes ready to list - "Detail your house like you detail your car".  You've GOT to do it if you want to get a higher price and if you don't want people to give you a low ball offer.

Now flipping subjects - since cars are usually individuals #2 most expensive purchase in their life and their home is the #1 most expensive investment, why do they still not quite grasp the fact that you truly need to DETAIL your HOUSE if you want top dollar? Help me understand. Extreme cleanliness is one easy key to making your home look better and to help show buyers that your home is truly cared for...just like a car!

You're so right, Beth.

My husband and I will be unloading a Volkswagen Westfalia camper soon and you can bet I am going to "stage" the heck out of it. Including the photographs we'll use to list it for sale.

Momma didn't raise no dummy...

Whenever I sell a car, on my own, I will detail it out so nicely, I sometimes want to keep it. LOL  Great post.

Yes, it is very important to get rid of the bullet holes too....

I am with ya Bob.... I cleaned up an old truck to sell and felt a little sad after.

Education.

Thought about leaving that as my answer but I just couldn't do it. 1)We haven't taken enough time to educate the general public. It will happen. 2) We tend to overlook our own dust and dirt at about the same rate as we overlook our personal shortcomings and faults.

If you do include car staging on your list please sign me up. SOON.

Tom - Great sense of humor. Yes, bullet holes are bad - regardless of if you are referring to a car OR a home!

Yvonne - You are a wise woman!  I'll keep you in mind too if we ever happen to add that to our list of services.

Kathleen - HA! Too funny...have fun washing it ;)

Brad -  Thanks. Glad you didn't think I was just blowing smoke - LOL.

Veronica - Glad to see you are on top of it.

Bob - Isn't that funny how getting something all cleaned up and looking it's best makes you want to keep it. Again, same thing happens with some homes we've Staged.

Beth, When I called my hubby to read your answer to me concerning this he added a word after wise. It wasn't woman. Can you believe I met a potential client the other day in my filthy car. I think it is your fault. Or it could be the crummy weather. Or it could be that my hubby didn't wash the car. Or it could be that I didn't . . . No, never blame it on self. Thanks for the fun time.

Kathleen, I've been trying to come up with the proper word to describe what you do with a comment and I simply haven't got it yet. You are almost like the benign tagger. You always, (is that too strong a word?) usually make me crack up with your comment tagging. A Kilgore was here attitude. No, I'm not THAT old, my Momma told me.

Yvonne - Well you give that hubby of yours a little kick in the butt for me. I have an idea what word he uses - HA! Thank you for the laughs too ;)

Hey wait...Karen I hope you truly didn't wash your car today - it's RAINING out today. No pun intended really?!?!

Night all....
