An interesting dilemma, the concealed carry license isn't it? Should you get yours? Should you carry when you do have your CCL? Here's what I saw just last night. Scares the bejesus out of me.....
I had a small dinner party - 14 or so guests WITH children present. Lady walks in, hands me the bag with her salad makings in it. Man it was heavy!!!! I had two little girls hanging with me so I started to hand one the bag of salad stuff to "help" me take it to the kitchen. "Wait!" said the lady. I turned, asked what it was she wanted. She quickly whispered in my ear, "My gun's in there!"
Well. Lots of good a gun does at the bottom of the salad bag huh? And what are you going to do with your gun when you get it? Keep it where? In the console of your touring vehicle? Great. Easy for you and guess what? Easy for them too! In your purse? How quickly can you get to it? What if somebody had their arms wrapped around you pinning you down?
Do you enter a home before your client? Walk up stairs ahead of your clients? Walk downstairs first? So many things to think about huh?
Before you decide to carry a handgun (concealed)....think through the how's and wherefore's. Sometimes it might be easier to simply take a self-defense class. It might be safer for EVERYONE for you to start thinking "AWARENESS" every time you go out rather than thinking you have the experience and situational awareness to handle a handgun AND a crisis at the same time. Somebody might get hurt!!!!!
By all means, take the concealed carry class AND qualify with YOUR handgun. Whether you decide to carry it or not is your business. Your life, your legal issues too.
