You and your neighbors are facing decreased market value of your home, and in turn your homes equity.  There isn’t much we can do about foreclosures except to minimize the effects in your neighborhood.

It’s time for neighbors to unite to clean up community eyesores.  We have neighborhood watch, so what is wrong with participating in keeping foreclosured properties clean, for our own sakes!   Schedule a neighbors meeting to plan how you can help in maintaining the foreclosures exterior.   Five things you could do:

A.  mow lawns  B.
rake leaves  C. pick up debris  D. collect newspapers  E.  clean pools

There's not much you can do to stop the foreclosures, but there are things neighbors can do to minimize the effects.   Vacant homes quickly become community eyesores and sites for crime and these also affect the value of your own homes value.   Keeping an eye out for criminal activity, and report anything suspicious.  In most cases, a single foreclosure won't affect the value of surrounding homes, however, a neglected property will.

Plan a neighbors meeting and discuss what you can do!   Great things happen when we plan to participate.
