Well that is a great start, to go for the green, and hopefully not just for $$$. But let me ask you where are the solar panels, and why not use GeoThermal Heat pump that has an SEER of 30+ for that money your asking on this house, this should be included or am I wrong?
Michael - Thanks. I try. Hopefully people will be able to get the message.
Ralph A Geothermal heat pumps haven't really had a good return on investment in Tennessee. They work better farther north where winters are much longer and colder. Total cost of energy for one of these homes is gong to average around $1000 per year. And that includes every electrical appliance. Spending more money for a seer 30 heat pump will probably only reduce the energy bill by a few dollars per month. To break even would take many years, and that doesn't include the extra maintenance involved with a geothermal unit.
