Reminder! The 2008 Fernandina Beach "Relay for Life" begins at 6 PM on Friday, Nov 14 and continues until noon of the following day. The theme is "Staying Alive", and the event site will be the Ybor Alvarez Sports Complex off of Bailey Road. A luminaria ceremony will be held at 9PM Friday evening. The local program coordinator is Laurie Ligon, herself a cancer survivor. This year the focus is on colon cancer. Each cancer survivor who registers in advance gets a free tee shirt to participate in the first, "Victory", lap. Survivors will also be honored at a reception and Survivor Dinner on Nov 6th.
