Hi Danny - Breathtaking is a great word - I found myself doing just that when I was at Smuggler's Cove - it was one of those moments realizing the exquisite beauty and wanting it to last indelibly.

You know Carole -  Yarmouth at the southern end of Nova Scotia near Smuggler's Cove National Park has ferries that run from Bar Harbour Maine - not far from Long Island - not so far from you.

Hi Debi! Love that spelling. I agree that there is a mysterious quality to the mist shrouded craggy cove where rumrunners stashed their contraband.

Melissa - Yes the Maritimes in general are quite different from Florida. However, I was at some lovely sandy beaches with turquoise waters that reminded me of the Caribbean - Nova Scotia has everything!

hi Charles - the fog is intriguing - can be tricky though especially when it is shifting a lot. If you miss the shot you have to wait hoping for the next right moment.

Hi Sylvia! You are right - the photo is reminiscent of a Chinese painting with the misty effect and jagged stone at Smuggler's Cove.

The east coast is wonderful Carl - I can see why your parents would want to retire there. You'd be a long way if you went 'west' indeed - not a trip you can make too frequently.
