DAY 7 OF 29 DAYS OF GIVING HAS BEEN A BUSY ONE.
I was tidying up a few rooms in my home and discovered I had far too many magazines that I had been saving for one reason or another. An article that might come in handy in this one. A recipe that would be great to try in another . . . Every one had a good reason for me to keep it. There were the National Enquire style gossip rags, People, US. A stack of TIME and McLeans that was threatening to topple over. The guest rooms had back issues of Reader's Digest and Golf Digest. There were even some Alfred Hitchcock mags - whose they were I don't know! I swear they breed when left unsupervised!!!
Well, I decided the time had come to part this growing collection. I was headed to the recycling box when it hit me . . . there are people who haven't read these yet. I can drop these off at a number of places that would welcome them. Hospital waiting rooms, eye clinic (pardon the funny), hair salons, barber shops, seniors centres, dentists and even laundromats!!
It has even given me an idea for a Gift down the road for children's books. I'll have to give that one a bit more thought.
I still have some more to drop off later today and tomorrow morning but you should have seen the looks when I asked if they could use any of my collection . . . you'd think I was giving them the crown jewels. Then I realized, everybody is having to cut back these days, really concentrate on the overhead expenses. Magazines are not cheap!!!

I don't know about you, but we tend to spend far more time in Dr's waiting rooms and hospital clinics these days and the magazines there are quite a bit out of date (by years) and quite well thumbed too. A fresh supply of magazines, puzzle books, etc are always welcome. So, if this is something you think you would like to do, make sure your mailing address label is removed and donate them to some deserving place. Every little bit helps . . . See you tomorrow and if you'd like to join in, please visit: 29 days of Gifts

Great idea, thanks for the tip!
