Hi, it was really hot day here in Atlanta today. This is the pictures of kitchen makeover. We painted kitchen cabinets with semi gloss paint and changed cabinet hardwares and faucet, applied large vinyl tiles on the floor. Fresh coat of paint and replace stainless appliances to finish the look!

If kitchen cabinets are in great shape, and in good layout, your kitchen can have new look without overhaul entire kitchen.

When you paint kitchen cabinet, make sure you apply primer and paint with semi gloss or gloss paint since gloss paint is hard to paint on and doesn't stick on surface without primer. Gloss paint is easy to clean the surface like oily kitchen area compared with satin and flat paint. I would not recommend to paint walls on other area with glossy paint since it reflects too much light of the room. I would use satin for rest of the room. If you work on kids room, gloss paint works very good to remove crayon art work!

Some investors or home remodeler paint cabinet without taking out each cabinet door to save the time and labor. It might take longer time but I recommend to remove the cabinets door and take a little more time to repaint cabinet on each side. As you know, kitchen is the best selling point of your property. Instead of spend money to replace whole cabinet, I would recommend to update your appliances to stainless from basic white and add new counter top and faucet instead. Additional micro/fan combo on the top of oven add a much more value.

Nice addition of color and stainless to separate the look instead of all white. Good tips!

Once again you make the point that kitchens are a key element in any home - improvements that are worth every penny!

Nice..but as I always point out to agents here, when you are trying to make a statement with a photograph, remove the trash can and the drying pots and pans on the counter. They take away from all the hard work you did. Looks great though.

Thank you for your commnets, everyone!

Jill>>That is true! Second picture is before I added micro/fan on the top of oven. I took this picture before I completed. I wouldn't put this pic on MLS listing. I just wanted to show other side of kitchen. Thanks for poiting out.

Another nice job Misako.  I recommend using a velor roller for painting cabinets.  It leaves a flawless finish you cant get with a brush, regular roller, or sponge roller.  What do you use?

Good idea to update the appliances!  Stainless always makes a higher end statement!  Regards-Kathleen
