San Diego, otherwise known as America's Finest City, basks in what is considered to be our country's most idyllic climate.

San Diego is the second largest city in California and enjoys many miles of dazzling coastline with world class beaches amid cliffs and coves dotted with dramatic sea side mansions. With a population of over 1.3 million, the city of San Diego has a vibrant and historic downtown with world class restaurants, a huge bayside convention center, a new baseball stadium and a wealth of exciting urban living opportunities.

The world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park with its museums and attractions, the highly acclaimed Old Globe Theater, the La Jolla Playhouse, the Opera and Symphony are just a few of the many reasons people love living here.

With a well diversified economic base, San Diego excels in the fields of Biotechnology, Science and Medicine, Communications and Government Military Installations. From the beaches to the inland mountains, San Diego offers a wealth of year round recreational activities  including golf, surfing, cycling, marathon racing, horse racing, Polo, and Para sailing.

If you can name it, San Diego most likely has it in abundance.

Our current real estate market is beginning to show signs of stabilization despite what you might be reading in the local papers. Prices have certainly dropped but when you evaluate what San Diegans can expect living here, it won’t be long before the prices begin to move up again. There is a reason why things are a bit more expensive here, nearly everyone that comes here would like to move to Americas finest city. It’s the old paradigm of ‘Supply and Demand’.

When you really think about the many treasures and the near perfect year around weather,  I doubt that many who visit San Diego would not be impressed that there is something here for just about anyone. Perhaps that would be better said and that there is something here for everyone.

The quality of life itself, our schools, our 50 different communities within the city, our Agriculture, Biotechnology, in a county with a total of 18 wonderful cities, it’s Medical and Drug research, Marine Biology and Research,Communications Technology, Manufacturing, Tourism, Major League Sports, fine restaurants with world wide reputations, San Diego has it all. And just in case I forgot something, not to worry, it is probably here as well.

Over the last 20 months here on ActiveRain, I have written much about San Diego. I thought it might be nice to collect many of my photos and share them here with you as a collection of things to see and do In San Diego. I hope through these photos that you will want to know San Diego even better and hopefully be able to visit our amazing city one day. Photos can only capture the variety of things you can see here but what I can’t show in photos is that San Diego has a heart and it calls itself home to some of the nicest people on the planet.

Once this post is launched, I will come back periodically and keep adding in more of the hundreds of photos I collect on this wonderful city that I call home.

If ever you have a desire to move to San Diego, I suggest you consider it sooner rather than  later. If you wait, the housing costs will most assuredly be more than they are at todays amazing value. Come and get your own piece of one of the finest cities in America and then you as well can call San Diego, home. You will be glad you did.

BTW, If you need a good REALTOR, I just happen to know one of the best!

William, I lived in San Diego for a short time back in the late 70s. I remember it being very beautiful. I lived in Oceonside and also lived for a while right across from Balboa park. You do live in a great place!!!

OMG-That was an awesome slideshow. If I ever get to San Diego. I'll know some of the best sights to see. The Animal Park would be at the top of the list. I am soooooo glad you did this. As well as the slideshow, the way you described San Diego who wouldn't want to come either for a visit or to live. This blog is excellent. Very well thought out and tantalizingly well crafted. I think they call that a MAJOR HOOK my friend. I'm sold. Told you, it's all inside of you, ready to come bursting forth. Like I've told you before. You are a very intelligent man with a voice that many want and need to hear. I for one am very glad I'm among those that have a front row seat to listen to your eloquent voice. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Go by your timetable. No one elses. This is high quality work and it shows. :-)))))))

Hi Bryant, It is indeed. I always appreciate when you drop by. It was so nice seeing pictures of you and your wife in Orlando for NAR meetings. So glad she is doing better.

Hi Pat, Thank you so much, your thoughts and comments are much appreciated. Right now, I am definitely into quality mode. It is interesting that you mentioned "major hook". One of the things I am learning is that geographical areas are the weakest, especially if they are large areas like San Diego. I am still looking to refine down to specific type of client to refine my blog in that direction. As a second or 3rd niche, the broader area of San Diego works OK.  With over 20,000 agents in San Diego county, you might be able to better understand why San Diego as a key word is not specific enough with most agents having San Diego in their web title.

So I am working on that and soon I'll announce what my primary "Niche" is.  Fortunately I bought a large number of domains and I am sure in that mix should be a specialty I will end up gearing my blog to.

I loved the slideshow!  That was pretty cool how they're all taking pictures like each were a celebrity :) All the pictures enhanced what you just told us about your area...your home.

William - I really like that sealife bubble. I SCUBA dive and it looks like I could go into that bubble and not have to get wet and mess my do up! LOL

I used to get to San Diego on a regular basis for business pre real estate.  Loved the Zoo and the weather especially when I left a dreary DC day made me smile!

Hi Cindy, San Diego just keeps getting better and better. One day the downtown will not be recognizable. A new city hall is planned and a new Library and when the markets return, I expect a whole lot more of the huge housing towers. My Ball park pictures and many of my downtown photos are misplaced and I trying to locate them. I will keep adding to this post's pictures.

William,

Wow, what an impressive slide show! Pretty easy to see why it's  called "AFC". The "AFC Half Marathon" is the absolute best, beginning in beautiful Pt. Loma and finishing in the spectacular Balboa Park. People come for all over just to do this one and enjoy the spectacular sights.

I've been to most (yet not all) of these great places in your tour. And when you're on Coronado and look back at that skyline, wow what a sight!

Beautiful San Diego has so much to offer, it's long-been one of my very favorites! When it comes to local real estate it's easy to see why you're the top Sand Diego REALTOR!

Hi Marcel, Where is Spring Tx. I spent a number of years in Dallas and I love the people there. They are friendliest of any where I have lived ( maybe tied with North Carolina ) .

Hi Lynda, You are so right and I really appreciate the compliment as well. I could only wish I could have put all my other photos on ( haven't located them as yet) but I have remembered about the Petco Ballpark and the Roller coaster at Belmont Park and Downtown , La Jolla Village and La Jolla Shores Beach and Pier,  Scrips Birch Aquarium, SeaWorld, and the seals at the beach and well, there were lots and lots and when I find them I might do yet another post since there is just so much to see.

Hi Gena, Thank You, that was so nice. I only wish I had had all the photos as so many things are not there. The Ball park, all my pics of downtown, the Trolley system, Seaworld, La Jolla Cove, The museums at Balboa park and Contemporary Art museum in La jolla, The Commuter Trains, The airport and shuttle system, Mission Hills, Presideo Park, The fabulous Casinos around the county, the back country, just so many photos are missing. I think I put them on a disk but I can not locate at the moment so when I find it I suspect as many as another 30 photos to be put on.

But I am glad you liked it even in it incomplete state. Many thanks for dropping by Gena.

William - your photos of familiar and new sites in San Diego are enticing - and NAR will be there next year. Tami and I enjoy having lunch at the San Diego Yacht Club, through a reciprocal arrangement with our St Petersburg Yacht Club. My husband actually bicycled there one year from downtown. I hope we're able to get there and if so, of course we'll want to see YOU.

Hi Joan, I am still looking for so many more photos that seem misplaced at the moment. SeaWorld, The Belmont Roller Coaster, La Jolla Village, Del Mar Village, All my Downtown pictures, Whale watching, there are so many. The new Petco Ball field, The Sports area, Qualcom Stadium for the Chargers, restaurants galore, The trolley system, the Coaster, the Flower Fields, Poinsettia Farm. I just didn't realize how many there were. I will be adding as I locate them as they appear that they may not have been transferred to my new computer. When I add them then it will be complete and work the bragging rights
