Thanks a second time Mother Earth

Many here are thanking AR for the leads they have closed on. I have yet to have that pleasure. Of course, I believe this will eventually happen for me too. You see because of AR, I have gotten several email requests about my area. I also have had a few phone calls asking more details about land and farms of which I have posted. However, I still cannot be certain that any appointments could be attributed directly to my AR blog and that is OK.

In time, I am certain this will come. But I do know this, on Friday I will close on a sale with a wonderful couple from Chicago. They read the Mother Earth magazine article about "9 great places to live You've never heard of." Viroqua made that list, they decided to make Viroqua their new home and I am now lucky enough to now call them new neighbors and friends.

Mary, I agree with Jim Frimmer, about putting more time and effort into Localism. A sponsorship may be the answer if you don't have a lot of time at first.

I loved reading that article in Mother Earth News about Viroqua. We have been through quite a few times in recent years and love your community. Is Bella Luna still around? We had the best meal there a few years back after the holiday fair at the Waldorf School.

It is wonderful that their article has helped others decide to come to your area!

Brenda: No, Bella Luna is not open anymore, the first owners are still in town, sold to another party who did not have quite the talent for running a business and later went out of business. The building is now the location of a Trout Fishing guide & fly shop. I do miss that restaurant too. I actually had several calls after the article came out. One from Denver, wanting a condo with no yardwork, we don't have condos here, LOL. The other was from the Southern part of Illinois.

Jim: I did do a lot of work on Localism and then AR switched it out for the new Localism. I guess I got a little worn out with that. Also when the categories got removed too form that was something I did not like much either, fortunately they are still on the outside blog.

Mother Earth News is a sound publication that I have not taken a peek at in a few years. Thanks for reminding me it is still in print.

Hello Sabrina: Yes I just pick up my check and also called the buyers to let them know they are the proud owners of a new property in Viroqua. Thanks Mother Earth.
