WHAT TO DO???

Ok, it looks like they are both good but can anyone give me input after having used both?

How about the good and/or bad of each for the one  you use?

How was the set up if you were the FIRST in your MLS to set up?

What I LOVE about both is the ability for spiders to index the rss feeds... that is WHY I am looking to go with one of them... So, unless there are other IDX providers out there I know I want one of these... IF there are other options WITH the RSS feed and ability for spiders to INDEX the post... please let me know.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing a lot of great feedback!

We recently signed up with Diverse Solutions but we are not the first for our mls and it still took about a week to receive the required authorization. Now we're working through the process of setting up specific searches to be framed onto our site.

Mark - I personally can say many wonderful things about Diverse Solutions!! I, like you searched out several options with 1ParkPlace & Diverse Solutions and others. After trying many and working with the customer service reps with several of the companies mentioned above, there is no question there is a huge difference in my opinion.

I went with Diverse Solutions for several reasons, the look, the ability to customize and the flexibility of the features was the highest priority.  Obviously I wanted ease of usability for my prospective clients too!

The fact that Diverse Solutions is constantly working to improve it's product is appealing to me as well. Most recently this week they have rolled out a new update and the newly added features are fantastic.  Staying in the front of the pack in the IDX industry is a high priority with DS and I've seen the progress they are making daily. Surely something to keep an eye on!!

You mention RSS Feeds, I use these to death, a great feature you don't get with most other providers!!  I have them built into my blog pages, I send them out to my buyers, I place them within the body of my emails, posts and various posts within Activerain too!

The modules are awesome and I love the ease of use to pop one into a page. I have my Diverse Solutions Search IDX Page on two sites and pay one price!! I use the links everywhere, in fliers I create and the search results I get are picking up dramatically!

The Admin control panel is so user friendly and helps you keep all your contacts so organized. The Agent Chat is so awesome and it sends vistors comments to my cell phone (SMS) with a text if I'm not at my computer.

The card and newsletter program, email campaigns and all the added features are so amazing. All this in one place is fantastic.. The best part for me is that the support is above and beyond what most companies are willing to offer in the technology field. I am all about Diverse Solutions and if you need any questions answered personally please don't hesitate to contact me direct ...

I know several associates and brokers that use it and I believe I can speak on their behalf, that Diverse Solutions is on the cutting edge and leading the pack for IDX solutions for us Real Estate Professionals!  Best of luck in your decision! (sorry for the lengthy essay here, but I truly am a huge DS Fan)

Mark,

I have to say Diverse Solutions has really done some great work staying at the forefront of change.  There is a trial version that they give for free with our MLS and even that version was fantastic.

I think their new upgraded interface really makes it quite a bit easier for users to search and save their profiles.  Making an RSS feed out of the listings is a huge bonus for greater depth of content.

We have recommended Diverse to many fellow agents who want to really get serious about their online marketing. I think you will be in great shape with them.

Mark, good talking with you this morning and after that quick conversation I could tell you've bottomlined the differences between these two companies pretty well.  As I mentioned, I am no longer with 1parkplace but providing (IDX agnostic) internet marketing solutions for agents and brokers through my own consulting company.  You can read my take on 1parkplace, diverse solutions and REWebmasters here as I've compiled some information that I think is important for any prospective buyer.   Hopefully you'll find it helpful.

I am new to diverse solutions and am about to launch their platform on two of my sites.  Do any of you know how to use the widgit sliders on craigslist.com posts?  I was told by my salesman at the company that there is a wordpress template that allows you to place flash widgit sliders into craigslist.com ads.  I think that would drive a ton of traffick to my sites.  Anyone have any ideas??

Hi Craig,As far as I know, yes this should be possible and if I understand what you're trying to accomplish, it should be too tough.  The DS sliders are part of a module builder that once completed creates html code that you should be able to just copy and paste into an article, post or I'm assuming a craigslist ad. I'm pretty certain you can paste html into craigslist adds as we (or 1parkplace) had an automated craigslist listing poster that was quite nice.

Mark just so you know Real Estate Webmasters does not do RSS feeds of IDX data - any vendor who does is in violation of NAR policy with respect to a vendors obligation to protect data from scraping. Our process does allow search engines to spider our entire website (including the IDX portions) but it does not allow the data to be removed or accessed outside of the site (like an RSS feed would)

Mark,

I Googled Diverse Solutions IDX and saw your blog. Trying to decide on the IDX. I have IDX Direct now, but I am far from being happy. I see that this blog is nearly a year old, so I figured that you might have some thoughts on how it worlks for you.

I would really appreciated your take. I am not sure you will see this comment, so I will also send you an e-mail.

Jon,

I'm pretty familiar with these two idx systems and have posted some details about the differences between  1parklace and Diverse Solutions as well as a few others on my site.

Hopefully it's helpful and feel free to contact me for more info or assistance.

Tom,

Thank you very much. It was very helpful, at least it helped me a lot to narrow down the search.

Diverse Solutions is a great IDX search with regards to a solid presentation, good graphics, etc...  Looks very good.  There is a HUGE issue and it actually caused me to leave Diverse Solutions.  There is no basic address search with their program.

So, let's assume that a buyer does what most buyers do...drive around areas and write down address of properties they see and would like to learn more about.  They get home, happen to get on your website and begin to look for their noted properties.  There is no way to find them without having to scroll over the map and then they'll only see their noted homes if the homes match their search criteria in the settings.  There is no other way to find their homes.  There is no basic, simple search by address option.  That's HUGE!  I tried to get my point across to Diverse Solutions and they were pretty arrogant and blase with their responses.  They simply didn't care.  As you and I know from being real estate professionals, you cannot overstate the importance of having a basic level address search on your IDX solution.  IDX solutions are too readily available now to the general public.  They'll simply find another site where you can search by address for a home you like.  It's a major issue with their service and all they say is that it is something they'll consider in the future.

Which leads me to my other point...their customer service is HORRIBLE.  If you search, you can find multiple threads and blogs talking about how bad the customer service is at Diverse Solutions.  Unfortunately for me, I found it too late.

Diverse solutions looks pretty, BUT they price their product like they are some sort of trophy bride deserving a house in Monte Carlo and and have servants clicking buttons for each user that does a search on their sites. Ok, maybe that's a little overblown, but you get the picture.  It's $100 per month for Austin so even though they sure do look pretty, I have accounts with Wolfnet and Real estate webmasters. Both provide solid solutions for a much more reasonable price. I've been thinking about making my own IDX solution, but haven't gotten there yet. A few more price increases and/or dragging feature lists and I'll be there though.

Oh yeah. and they spam the hell outta press release sites. I think they put out a new one for EVERY single person that executes a search or something. Actually, just every new realtor that signs up, but you get the picture.

Diverse solutions has some great features and abilities, but their customer service is total garbage!  It's like they're working out of someone's parents basement!

Mark,

What did you end up going with?  I am with Market Leader and am looking for a change for my IDX because of how horrible the service is!

Dave,

Actually I went with http://www.ihouseweb.com/  They would not have been my pick but 1pp is proprietary and DS had a deal with active rain and they totally screwed up the deal... I set up several agents in my office to get the market opened and they went months without getting things done and then on top of that were billing us... had us set up in the wrong states for awhile... really just messed it up pretty good...

I do like DS but they seem a little "full of themselves"...

Hope that helps a little?

Well, I know this is an old thread, but I want  throw my 2 cents in.  In my opinion, Diverse Solutions rocks!  The products are great, and my website visitors love using them. Bottom line is I have made a lot of sales with the help of DS.  I don't get the feeling at all that they are full of themselves at all... they are confident...and I am ok with that.

I went with Diverse Solutions but am considering leaving. New the the real estate web presence and they seemed the easiest to intergrate with a WordPress powered site. However, their customer service needs some serious overhaul. Especially "Kenny." He seems to have a bad attitude and doesn't seem like he wants to help. The biggest issue is lack of communication. The changed the way their tool reads the MLS feed from my area and didn't send out any warning that things would change - One day my clients searches just stopped working. Not good! Then I have to spend a whole day calling DS. I've never felt like I had to be such a squeaky wheel to get some traction and movement out of a vendor. Here's to looking for other solutions...

Yes and old thread Bill but still a good one.

DS sucks, and I've shared many of the reasons why with you.

It's framed solution laods slow. The further you are away from California, the slower it is.

Thei DSPRESS isn't customizable, has no client capture, loads slow, has 2 aerial maps loading, has outgoing links in their virual tours, is seldom improved, is often problematic, tehir mail server IP was recently banned, rendering my site referals useless, tech support hardly gives any details of solutions when and if they ever get any from programming. On and on.

I hope they get their act together because I have the damn thing integrated into my site to the point of no return
