"dead lead" turns into 2 new listings...

Real Estate Agent with @properties

Here is my first official blog, welcome to the first day of the rest of my real estate career. I had an interesting thing happen on the way to the internet on 10/15/2008. I had a seller lead from my only lead serice that works, HouseValues.com

The seller sent a request for a CMA on 10/15/2008. I emailed the request and mailed my pre-listing package as I always do. On 10/24 I got a call from the son of the owner who sent the request. It turns out that the owner died on 10/17/2008 and his son (the executor of the estate) said that "you recently talked to my dad about selling his house, and we want you to sell it for us".

When I went to the property to meet the executor to list it, he told me he had a another home (rental property) that he need to get on the market. As I alwys say, treat every lead the same, you never know!

Hey Dan

Glad to hear someone is happy with their lead generation system. I have not had any luck with pay for use systems. Is House Values expensive?

Wow you have to be one of the few to actually benefit from one of those lead generating websites.  Have you gotten any other leads from the site that worked out?

Since 2001, I have taken 177 listings from HouseVlaues.com leads. You have to give it 2 years, most leads take 12 to 14 months to turn them into new business.

Hey Dan!!  Good to FINALLY see you around the Rain!  I hope you come back often and blog about your systems and how you get these listings to list.  I'm sure people would love to hear about success and the public would flock to you!
