Do you have your photo on your business card?

By
Real Estate Agent with InlandHomeFinder.com

I want to explore and discuss the age old debate in our industry.  Real Estate seems to be the one profession that accepts and almost applauds a photo business card.

So where do you stand?  Do you consider this tacky and unprofessional or would you say that is smart marketing and branding?

As always, I look forward to a lively discussion on this topic...

Also, what is your opinion of the One million dollar business card?  I personally find them as creative, refreshing and super productive.

I'm not very good looking, but I do have my photo on my business card.  I figure it might help potential clients feel at ease with me in that I wouldn't give them my picture if I had planned to harm or defraud them.  Does that make sense?

Nick,  I don't use a photo on my business card.  I know most agents do but I think it is a bit of a strange practice in our industry.  PS - I love the photo of the Tetons and the Snake River Overlook on your business card.  The Tetons are one of the most beautiful places in the US.

I have had a photo in the past but have found it to be in the way. I think the business card is a business card with your contact info only. I think having a photo of yourself, your dog, your kids, whatever looks unprofessional and just plan odd. But that's just me.

I have a photo, but have wondered about this practice, too.  Guess I'll decide that question next time I order cards!

I am not a real estate agent, but I would think having your picture might limit your contacts.  Everyone's perception of what "professional" looks like is different.  I have seen some pretty goofy pictures on real estate flyers that get sent to my house.

Nick, I stopped putting my personal photo on my business card last year. I may be off base, but I've always wondered what whacko might stumble upon it. I think it may be more of an issue for women. But the again, we're all over the net, aren't we? I think a location specific photo such as yours is great.

Just actually reordered cards from www.toothandnailart.com and deleted my picture from it. My first cards came from Vista Print off a supplied template. Jim from Tooth and Nail designed me a one of a kind card NO PICTURE. Seems more professional.
