I thought it might be useful to some of you to see just what has happened in Shreveport when it comes to the number of homes for sale, homes sold, and new listings this year.  Below is a chart that shows the number of homes in each of these categories.

Shreveport Absorption Rates

As you can see, we are doing somewhat better with the number of homes for sale and new listings coming on the market declining.  I think that once we get past the holidays, the new president is in office, and we've gotten some of the economic jitters worked out, the number of homes sold will begin to rise.

Heather, the Homes Sold shows some seasonality BUT your market looks pretty good overall.

Hi Heather, even with the surge of existing and new listings, the sales seem to be pretty consistent. Good news is the sellers who want to be in the sold column have that opportunity by being in the bottom 10% price wise. Best price, best condition in the best location is always a wining combination! Thanks for sharing and warm greetings from Paradise.

Gary, Greg - Yes, our market is still pretty solid considering everything going on around us.  You are exactly right Greg.  When those three things are in place, a house doesn't stay on the market long.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
