Water Conservation

Take a shower instead of a bath. Showers use considerably less water. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a five-minute shower requires 10 to 25 gallons while a full tub holds about 70 gallons of water.

Water conservation isn't the only issue with bath time. Half of our daily chlorine exposure comes from showering. As chlorine is absorbed through the skin, it vaporizes in the shower, is inhaled into the lungs, and transfers directly into the blood stream.

So what's a person to do? Install an EcoQuest SpringHouse whole-home water system or a Premium Showerhead. The SpringHouse whole-home water treatment system uses a unique seven-stage combination of filtration and UV treatment to improve taste, reduce odor, and reduce unwanted pollutants from your family's water supply. The All-in-One and Premium Hand-held Showerheads remove chlorine and other chemical toxins from your shower.

"Our water systems like Living Water, LaundryPure, and products like our showerheads all significantly reduce the adverse environmental impact of our indoor spaces," says Senior Sales Manager Kevin Newsome.

Dr. Oz was on Oprah the other day talking about chlorine in the water. He said to add a charcoal filter to the shower head. We did that before we got our whole house water filtration system. One way we conserve water is to do short washes on most of the laundry we do. It still gets clean, yet it saves water.

Great Idea!  Now if you can tell me how to get my daughter to realize it doesn't take 45 minutes to wash a 5'2 100lb body then I'll be conserving too!  LOL

Robert- Thanks for the tips! Water is one of our most precious resources. I have a whole playlist on my YouTube channel about Green Technology for the Home, if anyone is looking for more ways to save the planet in their own home! Thanks for posting!

I live off a cistern so every minute the water runs can be precious. Conservation starts with the recognition that the resource is precious.
