In the 59th Chapter of Isaiah, the Nation of Judah, is given a full digest of sins, and great warnings about their destructiveness and how they caused a separation between them and God. Yet the full text of Isaiah is a call to the people of Judah to know that God's salvation was at hand through the Messiah.
Do you feel this salvation? I certainly do; isn't it great to be a Christians, who happen to be Realtors who can (i.e., have the ability to) use our faith and conviction to do the right thing, each time?
Isaiah is the first of the writings of the prophets to appear in the bible, and even though Isaiah is considered to be the greatest among the prophets, his fate was not unexpected. He was famously popular in the beginning of his ministry, but his messages were difficult to hear because he called on the people to turn away from sin, just as he warned them of the judgment and punishment God afforded sinners. Isaiah's prophetic ministry lasted 60 years before he was executed, and as historical documents suggest, his death was a violent martyrdom. One reference suggests he was "sawn in two."
I'm not saying we have to walk in any fashion like Isaiah, but think about what it means to be a Christian Realtor...really!
Terry,
It's interesting Isaiah's messianic references are left out of the Torah readings through the year. Another hero I like is Paul. I'm more of a "Mars Hill" kinda guy. I like to tell the philosophersabout their unknown god. I also enjoy the going into synagogues (sometimes churches) and reasoning with them out of the scriptures. Mostly I Paul's tenacity. I think if we approach our businesses like Isaiah and Paul we would all succeed. Fortunately I have a group of Christian Realtors in this area to chat with and keep each other focused on what really matters. It's easy to get distracted.
