I was going through some old memorabilia and photos that had belonged to my mother. In so doing I found a number of stamps. I do not know the age on these, but it looks like they were on a post card. It was kind of interesting to see the two most respected Presidents side by side. Washington was worth a nickel and honest Abe was worth 4 cents.

I suspect that these are from the late 1960's or the early 1970's. Any stamp collectors out in the rain might know. I do not have any thoughts that they are of value but I, again, thought the two great Presidents together were appropriate after the recent election and all. Wonder what these two would think of the way the whole process and the campaigning has changed?

My certifried home inspection assistant Nutsy Wallenda found this bit of Americana interesting. He is into anything historical, especially old trees. He is very patriotic and gets carried away with holidays. He has a costume for every holiday. Wonder what he will do at easter? If I looked as good as he does, I would probably wear more costumes too.

Rita, I think Nutsy has some explaining to do---seems like he is jealous of Raven.

I think ole Abe would have found this last election especially satisfying.

Charlie and James,

You need to find a new pack leader for your Boy Scout troop. You are sick.

Sick is such a harsh and inappropriate word. I like to think I have a diverse gourmet palette.

Mr James,

Thanks to you I am now on tranquilizers, 1/16 of a tablet based on my size. I also look behind my back a lot. Are you proud of this?

Your quarry,

Hey James, don't tranquilizers also act as a "tenderizer?"

Hey Charles and James,

You guys are having way too much fun at my employees expense. Where is your professional courtesy. Brother, you have him so freaked I am afraid he might fall off a high tension line.

Well with the weight he has put on, I am not surprized that he is "loosing his balance"

Interesting Stamps .... I wonder how old they are too. I think you could get more for Nutsy on Ebay.

Steven, the stamps were part of the Prominent Americans Issue. Abe was issued in 1965 and George in 1967. They were regular issue stamps that were generally available and were in common use back then.
