We were all talking about the big General Motors saga, and wonder if they were going to get bailed out? Another agent suggested that NAR should get Realtors some bail out money. I thought it funny but I think she was serious about it? She has a plan all laid out! These are crazy times, but I don't think NAR is coming to your Rescue. My friend had a small business that failed and nobody came to his rescue. It is easy for me to say let GM go under because We do not have a plant in Florida. I know a lot of people will lose their jobs, but I read the leader Wagoneer gave himself a 67% pay raise in 06-07? Failing company pay raise sounds like Wall street to me. What they are doing is not working, I believe they need NEW leadership.

It's unfortunate that this country touts capitalisism but when big corporations fail get socialized help from the governement.  Why not have social and economic support from the governement for the bottom up and really help the people who run this country.  I think it is very twisted.

I don't agree with most of the bailout message myself.  Why are we continuing to help these companies out who have made deplorable decisions which have deteriorated their companies.  Part of the coming clean process should be some of them folding then maybe, just maybe the next generation of businesses that do spin off of the rebound will pay attention to what happens when corporate greed takes over you.  The message is ITS NOT ABOUT YOU OR YOUR COMPANY, IT IS ABOUT YOUR CLIENTS!  If they would have focused on this message instead of worrying about buying another boat, things would have been much different!

I also would not agree with a bailout for agents or anyone else who has made poor decisions during the past several months and/or years.  It is time that people and corporations be held accountable for their horrible decisions in the past several months/years.  If they fail, they fail, survival of the fittest.

You know GM announced a new Hummer !!! I am thinking why would i want to give these bozos money . I do not . Who gives money to me when I struggle in this market. I have no more cheeks to turn! I wouldn't have turned the financial bailout cheek either. They should have GIVEN US THE MONEY. We would have paid off our mortgages, liquidizing the banks. Bought a new car , your welcome GM , and bought a new TV . yes spend in this economy. The politicans make me sick

I agree with Michael in theory, but unfortunately letting these companies fail will have a ripple effect down to the little guy who needs it the most.

As far as NAR bailing out everyone, I don't think that would help much. I just paid my dues and the NAR portion was $115.00. If NAR eliminated their portion of the dues, I don't think it would go very far.
