How would you feel about your 85 year old Grandmother streaking around Charleston?

It started in England several years ago and now it has made it to Charleston, SC.

No, it's not a singing group.

It's 13 local women from a James Island retirement community posing nude for a 2009 calendar!

An 85 year Ms. June, playing bridge in her birthday suit?

Ms. September playing piano sporting only her spectacles?

Why is this happening you ask?

These ladies are taking off their clothers and baring it all to raise funds for the Bishop Gadsden Resident Assistance Fund, which helps residents beginning to face financial difficulties stay at Bishop Gadsden.

Talk about a fun christmas gift for Grandpa!

Calendars are selling for $15 with all proceeds going to the retirement fund.

You go girls!

Yup! I know... I have a lot to look forward to...

Several years ago our family saw the show of that famous stripper in Reno, NV. She was in her seventies at the time and still looked great. After the show, my sister remarked: "I wish I had those legs when I'm seventy." After a few moments' pause, she added: "I wouldn't mind having those legs now!"

I do not believe they bared it all! But if they did, they were brave souls!! And the photographer was braver!

I remember that movie. What was it Calendar Girls!? OK well I would be moritified but, my mother is becoming somewhat of a free spirit so I hope she doesn't get wind of this.

Hi Mirela-I think that is so awesome. Posing naked and wearing pearls. You go Grandma!!!!! See not only the youngin's girl got it. These ladies could give them all a run for their money, :-)

I agree with Barbara, if they did, oh my! The photographer sure earned his money that day.....unless it was grandpa behind the lens. LOL

I am at a loss for words..... I wonder what the conversation around the thanksgiving table will be... ?

This is both wonderful and scary at the same time. I haven't had the balls to click on the link yet - it's drawing me in yet it may be wrong on several levels. Show & Tell at the Charleston kindergarden will be much more entertaining this year.

Mirela, So which one is your Grand-mother..I want a glimpse of what to expect for you later in life. We all become what our elderly parents look like eventually. I had a roommate in College who had this cute little girl friend I said look at the mother and that is what she'll look like later he said I was crazy. We ran into this girl 25 years later and man oh man it was her mother..in the mirror.

Pearl necklaces - how classy can you get!

Steve: My mom wrote the book on walking around naked, but that's another story altogether.

I can already see myself in the tall chick in the back with the high hair and the sunglasses. Is that an apron she is wearing? If she's anything like me, the apron is strictly for decor; the only cooking out of this chick is "Nuking"!

Oh, I just love people with spunk! Good for them for keeping their lives interesting and Fun!

That is great. I think that is wonderful that they would do a calendar!

Maybe you have to reach a certain age to become this gutsy! More power to them!

I certainly like there initiative! I'm not sure that I would want to see my 98 year old grandmother out there but I'm not against a good cause!
