I had to take my car into the dealership today for various reasons.  It is a three year old Black Cadillac CTS.  Though it has been the love of my life since day one, I cheated.  I was given the latest upgraded model of the same car in a different color.  Let me tell you something, when I turned it on it certainly returned the favor.

Since I had a little time on my hands I decided to treat myself to lunch.  Allen, Texas used to be a small farming town.  Things have changed as of late.  There are many new and exciting things going on.  One is the opening of a new shopping center called Waterscreek.  It has everything you would need to spend an afternoon or evening.  There are lofts and condos as well.  The shopping and restaurants are second to none.

I love the landscape and sound of the creek running throughout.  Check out the horses.  They look like they are made of copper but I am really not sure.

I had an awesome lunch at Naan.  The restaurant is owned by a very ambitious young woman.  The service and food are spectacular!

So are you wondering who you have to feel bad for?  My husband of course.  I got so 'excited' about driving that car and hanging out in Allen he will not hear the end of it for a while.  We all know I usually win these battles so he should just concede now!

If you feel inclined to watch the experience in a slide show please click below.  I dropped by to say hello to a friend and her pet chicken and Lab Sam.  That explains the end of the video.

The kicker is he is still at work.  I stopped by in the car and he was impressed.  It is gorgeous.  He doesn't know we are moving to Allen yet.

My husband can't stand that commercial...  Obviously his car isn't turning him on!  That's a sweet ride... I'm glad you took a little time for yourself.

Debbie- He must test drive one.  That will turn him on and he will grin every time he sees the commercial.

Melody-Very nice wheels and loved the car video.  Yeah, I think hubby should just give in NOW!  I loved the video and the accompanying music when you click on the horses. I get to see a lot more of the U.S. here on AR that people share. Great job. Have a great weekend.

No question I love horses since I have 2. Attraction(left) and Windsong(right)

Pat- They are so precious!  The music and vocals are performed by a good friend of mine here in Texas.  She is great, eh?

Mel, those copper horses are impressive. Haven't been over to that area of Allen. The things you learn about your own backyard. Great artist whoever did them. Don't be too hard on hubby : )

Gary- Bethany and 75 on the SW corner.  There are plenty of parking garages but if you park at a meter you really don't have to pay.  The money is donated to charity.  Cool idea, eh?  Now that 121 is 'mostly' open or take George Bush it should take you 30 mins from your office.

Mel,

Must have been a nice lunch...I think I would have enjoyed riding the copper horse. At least I know it wouldn't buck me. Well maybe a ride in the CTS on the open road might also make me smile.

Mel - all this inspired by a loaner Cadillac, what would a Lamborghini brought us? The chicken was a bit unexpected though.

Hi Mel,

Looks like you had a special day for yourself! Congratulations on the new car and for taking the time to enjoy the day.

The area sure looks well developed and thoughtfully so. I especially enjoyed the pictures of the waterfalls.

That chicken is cracking me up!

I thought you were going to tell us that you bought the car, showed up at Tony's office and then his head exploded.  LOL!

Let me know what color you end up with.  :)

Not only are you nice and incredibly funny, you are quite a talent with the camera!  Loved your friends rendition of the song too!  Remind Tony that longer than always is a long time for you not to be happy...  maybe that will spur him on!!  Oh and tell him that No one else will love him more!

Hey Mel.... The CTS is a nice car... I'm still cranky that Cadillac killed off the Fleetwood, but what can I say... I'm an old fart. :)  I drove a new STS when we were in Minot this summer and it's a kick in the pants.  I would consider a new one if I could get the boss to give up her MB.  Let us know if when Tony gives in.

Melody-

some nice pictures there...looks like you certainly enjoyed your outing! Good for you..it's always nice to take a little break from the norm, huh?

On another note, I need your help.  I wrote a little post about my sister and gathering birthday wishes for her (this was last night)  I just saw her bday post to herself...but would you help me spread the word?  Thanks.
