During an inspection today I was running the water in a newly remodeled bathroom. The water was backing up in the sink and when I looked under it to see what was going on this is what I found.

The second picture is what a normal trap would look like. What one do you think would allow water to move through easier? I'm sure "Harry Home Owner" was real proud of his "Weekend Warrior" plumbing project after his 1hr clinic at the local Home Depot. "Honey! It's working fine. No leaks!" When in doubt call a professional. Plumbers need work too. Think of all the free time you could have. A job that would take Joe the Plumber 15 minutes probably took Harry half the day.

Have A Great Weekend!

The first one is fancier and therefore should work better - LOL. Fun post and good photos.

Scott, a very clever and humorous post!  I am certain that many homeowner completed under-sink repairs look exactly like your photo!

I'm reminded of the last time I called a professional plumber for some work.  That night my basement flooded after one of his joints gave way.  He declared bankrupcy after I asked him to return and fix his work.  I went back to doing my own work.

Jim-It's real fancy!

Sharon-This is something my neighbor would do if he tried his own home improvement project. All he has in his tool box is duct tape and a credit card.

Richard- Sorry to here about your problem. Just a reminder to make sure they are licensed, bonded & insured. Just because someone has a pick up truck and a Dewalt drill doesn't make them a contractor.
