The talking doll says WHAT?

Hi Margaret,
I heard this on the news recently and it really is disturbing!  I am boycotting Fisher Price this year-they are acting very irresponsible in my opinion.

Margaret, I wonder if this was a conscious decision on the part of Fisher Price or a programmer with his/her own agenda. A doll who advocates one religion over the other should have that information "disclosed."

So Fisher Price is in the religion business now? Wow, this really is suprising.

I read about this and was skeptical, but seeing the videos - wow does that sounds like it.

Hi Margaret it sounds pretty strange that a major US corporation would be involved with a specific religion in this manner.

That's pretty funny.  I can't believe that got through the whole process.

They should at least disguise it a little.  I was thinking that a political doll could use:

Oh Momma,  Change, me am peeing

Unbelievable! I'd be interested in knowing where these dolls were made. I guess there's something to be said for all those "old school" toys where you had to use your imagination to make them move and talk.

Thanks for the post Margaret - I had not seen this story and I do have a Little Girl in my life. This is really crazy - hopefully FP did not know this was done. It will be interesting to follow the story and see where it goes. Have a great day!

Hi Margaret, I can hardly imagine a company would put out a doll in today's world with any type of religious slogan.  Nice update Margaret.

Margaret, this is disturbing to me.  I suppose, however, if it were disclosed, that would be a different story.  I won't be buying any Fisher Price dolls this year!  Where is quality control?  You would think they would test these dolls before they were packaged and shipped!  Thanks for the information.

This is VERY disturbing, and this is the first I've seen of it. I'm going to check around and see what else I can find. The thing that really surprises me is that it appears that FP has not responded. Things that make you go "HUH?!?!?!" GBU~

I have seen these video's before and find them very disturbing.  I have no problem with them selling an Islam-friendly doll, but for Pete's sake, market it as such.  I would be very irate to hear this AFTER purchasing the doll. 

Margaret:  Thank you for the heads up since I have a 3 year old granddaughter.  Haven't seen this doll but I will be on the watch and let others know too.  Isn't it just unbelieveable how these things continue to happen ?!

Whoa, I thought this was just another one of those little twisted "urban myths". How about a talking GI Joe that says "Take Me Home!" or a Realtor Barbie who says "Now Is A GREAT Time to Buy A House!" or "Are You Working With Another Agent?" or "Have You Been Pre-Qualified?" or..."Now, let's talk about that price reduction!" There's probably a bigger market for that, no? Holy smokes.

Margaret- Very disturbing indeed.  Not for what it says, but because they don't disclose this phrase.  What are they thinking?!  Why invite this kind of controversy to dolls of all things.  Makes no sense at all.  I too would be very upset if I bought this without any knowledge about that phrase.

Well, I sure hope they figure out soon that they aren't going to be getting much business from the consumer this Christmas with this being out on the market. Todd

That is very bizarre. It is also ironic, because Muslims are not allowed to make "Graven Images" and I suspect that a doll falls smack into that category. I imagine it was an employee who slipped it in and wondered how long it would take to be discovered. Once, a friend of mine had a summer job (during college years) in which he had to attach tags to stuffed animals. I remember vividly his telling me that sometimes they got punchy at the end of the day and started putting these tags in weird places. You just never know.

Margaret- Oh My!  I could just imagine what kind of ___ would break loose if this doll said that Jesus is the light!
