Last night as I was about to sit down and watch my Boston Celtics lose to the Denver Nuggets, which was an accomplishment in and of itself, I remembered in a short instant that the shuttle was going launch at five of the hour.
I darted into the room across the hall and grabbed our two sons, Jackson (3) and Carter (2), so that they could see the launch. Of course they didn't care much after the initial rockets were fired and the shuttle quickly disappeared from the camera, but I wanted to have them watch one of America's and man-kind's finest accomplishments; our ability to break free from one of nature's greatest forces - gravity (Photo is courtesy of Fox News).
It was a much needed reminder for me, that no matter how challenging the times may be for our country, no matter how big the obstacle, and no matter how many people say something can not be done, there is always going to be a small minority of people that are going to accomplish what they have set out to do, regardless of the circumstances or the cynics.
In fact, I would argue, this is the only way things have ever been accomplished.
What at one time seemed impossible and extraordinary, is now possible and ordinary.
So despite the "force of gravity" or economy that may be holding you back, keep in mind that nothing is impossible.
