37 Comments on Promises from God for Times of Trouble
Thank you ma'am. GBU
Elizabeth,
Thank you, dear sister, for this today. So many times The word from God we need now, appears. Thank you also for your faithfulness as an encourager.
So many are struggling—including those we serve, they are impatient, afraid and on the edge. My prayer is that we can all give hope where there seems to be--that God gives us His wisdom and shows us exactly how we are to be used of Him to minister where He wills.
BeBlessed.
JohnElizabeth, I know you will touch many with these verses and thoughts. I'm saving so I'll 'run into them' again later!
Thank you for the words of encouragement! I generally turn to affirmations but a healthy dose of faith will also help. GBU!
I need these scriptures today, thanks so much Elizabeth.
Elizabeth - If you don't mind I would like to add to this list. These passages brought me through hell and back.
Romans 5:3-5
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Hi Elizabeth, I have a perpetual scripture calendar on my desk. Usually there is a scripture every day but yesterday was just a saying but I thought it was so cool. "If you look at the world you'll be distressed, if you look inside you'll be depressed but if you look at Christ you'll be at rest." He is our rest; isn't he!!
What a generous spirit you have, Elizabeth, to think of sharing this as it relates to us in this business (or THAT business...it doesn't really matter). I try to keep a well-charged perspective in any work I am doing, knowing that whatever outward form my work takes, I can know my right activity is governed by God (or whatever one names this)...Sometimes there's a shift of "office space", but not really a shift in what I can best do...making connections that are all about GOODness and the continuous movement and animation of SPIRIT in the world...abundant, present, resourceful, reliable...I love the passage from Isaiah...and try to remember NOT to get into the storms...a posture of prayer and gratitude does much to strengthen and support each individual step and the WHOLE, unfolding story... Thank You!
Elizabeth: Thank you for the post. I haven't had time to read Gods word yet this AM because my bible is in the car and its freezing outside so you post was perfect for me to hold me over until I get to the car. I have grown to really love Gods word and am so empty if I miss a day without spending time with it....Love you sister, and GBU!!!n Kelly
Elizabeth, I can always count on your posts as a place to come where I can feel uplifted. You are such a blessing to all of us.
Isn't it nice to be able to openly acknowledge our faith in God? These scriptures speak volume to me as I have been struggling with my business ever since I relocated back home in March. My husband resigned from his position in June and we have been living on our savings ever since. (thank you Lord for our savings!!) I was able to get a part-time job at my church just to have it cut due to budget. Even through all the ups and downs I know I am in the palm of God's hand and know He has a plan just for me and my family. Thanks for posting His Word so that we can all remember Who was, is and will always be in control of each of our lives.
Elizabeth, I couldn't imagine not having faith and getting through the tough times. God always makes the mountains seem movable.
Thank you, Elazabeth, for putting together these very real scriptural promises! God bless you for yet another beautiful post. I read many, yet catch myself lacking the comment time. Again, thanks!
Thank you Elizabeth for the verses of inspiration and encouragement this morning.
Awesome post Elizabeth - thanks for sharing these verses of hope
I am reading a book about King Hezekiah's life and Isaiah 43:2 is said to have been written around the time of his reign - a time of turmoil ecomonically and spiritually and a time of war also....hence the vivid description, also it was a turning point for God's people as they withstood the events of their time and persevered...as should we.
GBU
Sincerely,
Grace
E,
SUPER POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jim

Elizabeth, Thanks for the encouraging verses. These are hard times for most people but God's people know there's someome watching over us and we will be able to handle whatever happens. I often wonder how people with no faith get through the days. God bless you.
Thak you and may God Bless you for our caring words
I really enjoyed your post. The verses were moving. I feel most days to be under the " God spits again " verse. Brother Andrew says you won't find it in the Bible but, it; covers a multitude ills. I think I'll copy yours and put them in my purse.
