I'm In the Wrong Business

My kids were asking me at the lunch table, "What's the most expensive hotel in the world??"  I told them I wasn't sure, and my son confidently said, "I'll bet it's the Waldorf Astoria in New York."  Not a bad guess, but I told him the US is fairly inexpensive compared to some parts of the world.

I did a search tonight and found out JUST HOW EXPENSIVE THESE LUXURY OVERNIGHTS CAN BE!!  Are you sitting down?? http://www.forbes.com/travel/2006/04/26/expensive-hotelrooms-world_cx_sb_0427featA_ls.html The number one spot (in 2006 anyway...) was  the Penthouse Suite at Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France. It has a nightly rate of $37,200. For that price, you get four bedrooms, a private terrace with a Jacuzzi and great views of the beautiful Mediterranean.  I enjoyed looking at these beautiful accommodations online, but even if I HAD that kind of money...I don't think I could spend that much in ONE night! Perhaps, I'm in the wrong business.  Anyone want to start a luxury hotel with me?   :)
