Occasionally I am asked about the advantages to Empire of membership in Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.  Beyond the obvious as a network to place and receive referrals, LREC provides Empire with resources to help YOU when you need information on real estate in other communities across the country.  Remember you can get community information by logging in to www.inside.leadingre.com on communities nationwide as well as do cost of living comparisons between multiple communities.  What a wonderful tool for you to use when talking to someone about moving into our area or leaving our area for another.

Just last month I got calls from two agents with special requests.  One was an agent working with a corporate referral buyer where the buyer had heard his old house had sold - he took a corporate buy out offer - and he wanted to know what the house had sold for and who the listing agent was at time of sale.  I called the LREC member in the area who got right back to me with the information so I could pass it on to the Empire agent.

Then I got a call from another agent who had a possible seller in Florida and was possibly a referral, a short sale or the property would go to foreclosure.  I contacted the LREC member with some special requests - Spanish speaking agent, short sale specialist, etc. - and got a very knowledgeable agent who let the Empire agent know that there were 56 short sale/foreclosure listings and a total of over 100 listings in that particular condo complex.  The Empire agent could then use that information to help the client determine what to do with the property - probably letting it go to foreclosure so no referral involved.

Yes, membership in LREC is beneficial to Empire in numerous ways besides just the placement and receipt of broker to broker referrals.
