This past Friday, November 14th 2008, the Concord NH Board of Realtors held its Annual Charity Auction.

This years proceeds were to benefit, for the second year in a row, The Womens Rape and Domestic Violence Center. The auction was held at the Holiday Inn, downtown Concord.

The Fund Raising Favorite started around 11:00 with registration and an Auction Preview. There were many great items....including lots of fun Gift Baskets. The item of most interest was a sharp looking Old Towne Kayack! It was very popular! There was a brief Business Meeting and then to the "fun"....

We had a delicious Buffet Lunch and a cash bar! open bar Hmmm all of those people standing there are from my office!

Our enthusiastic Auctioneer, Paul Wilmott has generously donated his services every year to this worthy cause!

As you can see the Gift Baskets were very elaborate and very popular! The re-occurring theme seemed to be relaxing getaways for two!

As of today the Auction total has not been released but I am sure they did well. It lasted till after 4:00 PM and most people stayed till the very end!

This is an extremely popular event with local Realtors and I'll bet many are already preparing for next year!

Did you win one of those beatiful gift baskets???  It looks like a wonderful event -- and certainly for a great cause.

I love that your local Boards are involved in their communities in such meaningful ways!  And an cash bar is good for driving up the bidding! ;)

I hope you won something! I never win anything. :)  Sounds like your local board is very involved and everyone got together to have a good time as well as raise money.

Hi Joan, This just one more example of some of what our industry does and how we as professionals put back into the community. How I wished that some of the wonderful and helpful things that REALTORS do could get better press and headlines once in a while.

But I guess as much as I would like to shout from the highest tower what wonderful things we are capable of, in some ways it is the lack of publicity and notoriety that celebrates the selfless and quiet efforts made.

This is just wonderful and I am certainly not surprised at all that you were 1.)  involved in the fundraiser and 2.) that you would want to share it with sincere pride. Great job and I am as I have always been with you so proud of our friendship and what you bring to this industry.

Sally...of all things I won a china doll in a raffle...since I have no grandchildren I gave it away. Figures that would be the only thing I've ever won!

Hi William....you are always so supportive of the Realtor Image. I so agree with you about publicity. Unfortunately we can't blow our own horn without apearing self serving...Our image could use some good press for a change!

Good to see you Elizabeth...it really is a very good cause and unfortunately a problem that seems to increase in tough times....they need all the help they can get!

Sorry. Books...are like lobster shells, we surround ourselves with 'em, then we grow out of 'em and leave 'em behind, as evidence of our earlier stages of development. I am from Uzbekistan and also now am reading in English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Does your child need to go to preschool?" Waiting for a reply :-D, Natasha.
