Who says it doesn't get COLD in FLORIDA?????

My email just alerted me to several weather warnings for the Central Florida area....

Typically these warnings are regarding tornadoes, hurricanes, hail, flooding, tropical storms... Today they are for wind chill advisories, freeze and frost warnings, and red flag warnings!

It's barely even half-way through November! We are in for a colder-than-normal winter this year, Florida! Bust out your scarves, mittens, boots... and bundle up the kiddos! Brrrrr!!!!

I used to live in So. California and so i thought 50 was cold. Until I moved to Oregon....The first spring day to hit 50, I am out in short catching some rays....

I got the same warning on my cell phone.......I could not believe it when I got it....I am in South Florida so it will not be quite as cold as Orlando. No matter I will be bundled up when I go out tonight and tomorrow morning!!

Elayna Fernandez - Naples FL I'm from the Dominican Republic and I live in Naples. This morning I had to wear boots and a jacket and turn the heat on in my car and it was 9am. It never got this cold in the D.R. Brrr ... at least for a caribbean girl.

Elayna Fernandez - Naples FL Thank you for your quick reply, Melissa. I've been in Naples 3 years so this is my 4th winter. It is definitely the coldest. I lived in San Diego 3 years... so that's almost 7 years in the U.S. I miss home like crazy but I am fortunate to go back a lot. It's a 2-hour flight away.

Melissa, we had our first snow flurries last night and today in the middle of the day. My car said it was supposed to be 40 degrees out, but the wind made it so cold it snowed, blech.

I talked to my old assistant, who moved to Florida last summer. She was so funny because she said people had down coats on and stuff. We giggled a bit. Stay warm, at least for you it should be very temporary!!

It was cold last night, by Florida standards! It is very rare for me to turn my heater on, but had to last night so the kiddos didn't get cold sleeping!

Melissa, it is freezing here too. It's not so bad though. I knew it was coming and ordered some very cool wintery suede, furry boots from Zappos.com. (no risk, it's free shipping both ways) They arrived yesterday. They are so comfortable too!

I love this weather, but I'm glad it doesn't go on for too long. I'm a New York girl, and I still have my favorite sweaters from up north, so I'm glad to get to use them occasionally. I don't miss the months and months of real cold, and I really don't miss the snow much. Florida winters are wonderful!

Yes!! It's cold here too in Hernando County, seems it came early this year. Sitting here sipping on hot chocolate, oh well, at least one benefit! Stay warm!

I live on the Indian River in Titusville, Florida - due east of Orlando and the snowbirds are coming. Left my home this morning with a sweater only, only to see my neighbor from PA sitting on her desk reading a book - in her swim suit!

how cold is it where yall are im from oklahoma and we had an ice storm yesterday and snow today it was 17 degrees today are you sayin it gets that cold in florida i always thought it was warm everyday there
