Why Agents Leave the Business

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with California State Broker/VP Western Region Connect Realty, Inc. BRE #00429006

As a former owner/broker it really pained me when an agent left the business because of lack of business. Despite all of the training and coaching we provided some just could not achieve success.  The frustration was in part driven by the fact that the company had invested time and money in these agents only to see them walk out the door one day and never look back.  They simply took their license home and stuffed into a desk drawer.  I just knew that there should be some way to recapture the investment, but, we had no mechanism in place to make this happen. I guess this is why I was so excited to be invited onto the team of My Green Parachute.com.  At least now there is a company that has created an exit strategy for real estate agents.  Now these inactive agents can embark on a different path in real estate.  They can become a professional referral agent and generate an income without the daily grind of "being in the business"They will have a renewed confidence in their ability to be a part of the real estate community even if they must maintain another job.  This just goes to show that innovation is still possible in our industry.

Tom, I agree that we as real estate agents need a bonafide retirement plan.  AKA: Exit Strategy with Residual or Passive Income!!
